I'm feeling bad I forgot to log something in and went over
I didn't do it on purpose. I totally forgot to log in some bread and butter that I had with my salad. I thought I still had 330 calories left for the day so I ate a slim a bear icecream and 100 calorie popcorn and then I looked at my log and the bread was not there :( dang it!
Now i'm 400 calories over for the day. I'm kind of kicking myself as normally i'm so good at making sure everything is logged.
It already happened. Move on and start the next day afresh. ;) Weight gain happens over a period of time, not instantly.
you can still log it in. go toyour food log and scroll all the way down past your last item. it'll have a bubble that is highlighted for today. use the drop down menu and choose "yesterday", then log what you forgot to put in.
You went over, but at least you'll have an accurate record. And going over once in a while is no big deal. Remember, we're learning how to eat for the long term, not on a diet. That means there has to be flexibility.

Thats ok! Remember, one day at a time. We can't always be perfect. AND you don't really lose weight by the day, it's an average. So for the next couple days, cut down 100 calories and you'll even out!
I appreciate how annoying it can be when this has happened having done it myself! Simply chalk this day up to being a "maintenance day" and continue as normal tomorrow. Occasioanlly having a maintenance day can help boost your metabolism, so you've probably done yourself more good than harm! ![]()
it's perfectly fine...that amount of calories isn't going to hurt your efforts at all...I did that plenty of times when I was dieting and always eat unanticipated extra cals even when maintaining now...nothing bad has ever happened....
and look at what you ate...a slim bear dessert and a 100 cal popcorn bag!...come on that won't do anything to you!!!!!!!! :-)
vanexxag...thanks hon. Ya I had already logged it. I log everything! LOL even a cup of 5 calorie coffee. I was just upset that I totally spaced the bread oh well life happens.

lalce1....you are right at least it wasn't something horrible like chocolate chip cookies laden with fat or something. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm feelin much better today about it all especially since it was a valid mistake.
I also walked 10 min today so i'm feeling good about that.
I messed up today also, oh well we'll start again tomorrow!
Don't think of it as a mess up. Think of it as something you can learn from. I think far to often we focus on the negative and not the positives. You realized what happened and now you know how to deal with it. We all make mistakes and can learn from them. Like someone mentioned use it as a day of maintenance.
shelly....awww i'm sorry. Tomorrow is another day right? You will be okay just start again tomorrow.
happens to me all the time. just keep it in mind tomorrow and start with 400 cals less as target tomorrow. like if you can eat 1600 cals a day, eat 1200 cals tomorrow. or if you can eat 1200 cals a day, burn 400 on the excercise bike tomorrow. best of luck!
