Ok, I've been crazy these past few days. I find myself counting the calories vaguely but after I found I only ate 1251calories one day I freaked out. What if my body goes into starvation mode?! What if I'm not eating enough!? So, I eat something extra... but then I freak out because I could gain weight! I'm freaking out and I'm getting ice cream with the family tomorrow and I know I shouldn't get a waffle cone and I know I shouldn't even eat it but I want to show that I'm not freaking out about everything. Like, seriously! Am I going to have to count calories for the rest of my life?! Then I think well, just until I'm skinny. Then I can eat more normally but exersize when I gain a little. I'm just feeling really frustrated because I want to lose weight and eat too.

I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Help talk me through this!

PLEASE

No help?

In 18 minutes...stop freaking out already!  Most people are asleep on the East Coast or out on a Friday night on the West Coast.

You will not have to count calories forever.  You will have to pay attention to your body and what you eat overall and exercise overall.  If you gain a few pounds or are looking a bit chunky, it's time to start counting calories for a while again.

Have your ice cream, but unless you've had a killer workout, try ordering the kid's size and either a sorbet or no sugar added or soy. Have you checked the serving size on ice cream?  Seriously, the kid's size is the recommended serving size for adults.

#1) figure out how many calories your body needs daily at your current weight, height, etc.

#2) figure out the calories needed to be at a healthy BMI.

Once you come up with the CORRECT number of calories, to slowly start dropping weight, then just eat that amount of calories each day, and RELAX. The weight will come off over time.

I have figured out all those numbers, and many others, and my weight is coming off almost EXACTLY as it is computed... while naturally going up and down a bit day to day, due to water, but steadily going down.

Figure out a calorie goal, and an exercise goal, and commit to it for a minimum 3 months to start.
Sorry. Thanks.

I just... I donno... tend to get panic attacks.

Ok, looking up calories needed and getting the kid's size.

Check.
