I really want to lose weight faster and the first 2 weeks, it seemed like I was losing so quickly and effectively. And now, I'm in my 3rd week, and haven't lost a pound. Help! I'm counting my calories properly and balancing it out with the activities. I am burning more that I intake, and haven't lost anything this week. Haven't done anything differently. 3 weeks ago, I weighed 207 and now I'm 199lbs, I'm 27 and 5'3.

If you have any suggestions, please help me. I do cardio for about 2 hours as usual, play basketball for an hr, and walk for an hr. Walk to and from work, total fo 40 mins. every day, I keep myself active as much as possible, I work on my feet moving around all day, and still can't understand why the weight loss stopped.  Cry

You may have just plateau. When I first started the diet thing I was 200lbs 5'5" I took my calories down to 1500  a day bought a rowing machine and rowed 20 min every day about 200 calories maybe more. The first month was going great the weight was falling off, then bam! Nothing! I had lost 10lbs the first month then just nothing I actually gained weight, and thought I must be doing something wrong. I have a friend that's a trainer and he said that happens especially if it had been awhile since you were eating right and exercising. The brain kind of freaks out and thinks your food source maybe getting scarce (the brain unfortunately has not updated that featuresince the stone age) and starts holding on to everything, until it sees if your starving. This is when most people get frustratedand quit. Hang in there this is a slow process ( i know so easy to put on so hard to take off) Also don't try dropping your calories drastically then the brain will really think you are starving and start consuming your muscle. I stayed the same weight for two months and then started dropping again, untilI got down to 160. If you are burning more than you intake you will lose weight you have to it's just slow sometimes.  There are a couple things you can do to try a break a plateau, try switching your cardio up, if you normally walk on a treadmill, switch to a stair climber. Hang in there it will happen sometime it just takes awhile. It took me over a year to lose 40lbs

Thank you both!!!!!!!!!!

I just came to this same "hole" in the wall. Thank you fasttalker77 for reminding me what I already knew,....but you know how some brains work,...it is easy to forget that it took years to get to where we are and will take time to work it off.

mimse,....I think you deserve to take a break,....you are working out like there is no tomorrow! Being healthy is more important than being skinny.

You both have inspired me, given me a fresh "poke in the ribs" to stay the course and loosen up a little. I am just thankful I am off the sofa and moving at all!!!!

Bless you both! mimse, hang in there, don't be so hard on yourself and don't forget to be happy and have fun with this!
