i think people thought that was a bit of a non sequitar.  (hmm hope i can still spell latin phrases that make me sound cool).

at any rate, are you in the process of coming out?  if you are, congrats! ( i guess that is the thing to say, right?)

in college i used to sing a song "all my friends are lesbians" to the tune of  the chorus of all apologies.

so yeah i hope your coming out process goes well, and of course people will accept you here--- heck we even like vegetarians and stuff ;)

If so, congratulations on being able to say it.  I have some friends that we've known were gay FOR SO LONG... and they didn't "come out" til last year.  Now that they have it helps so much.  I hope you find a partner to treat you well!  Best wishes

I don't have a prejudice against anybody but why is it necessary for people to "confess" their sexual orientation? Everybody always to wants to be treated equally yet they have to find ways to single themselves out. Well, congratulations I guess.

This is my "coming out":

I'm a hetero guys.  I hope this doesn't change your point of view of me and please don't treat me any differently.

Ok enough of that.  I just think it's strange the way society defines one another.  Why would we care if you like boys/girls/whatever!?  We don't.  We don't care much to hear about it either.  At least, I don't.

I hope no one takes offense to this post.  I just think it's silly sometimes.  From now on, please refer to me as part of the "Hetero Community".  LOL

I guess it stems from old prejudices... and some that are still prevalant... but we'll never get over those if we keep the spotlight on which way everyone sways.  That's my 4 cents (since I posted up a lil earlier too).

It would be nice if that were tue... but homosexuality is still a dangerous thing to be in america. Did you know you can still be legally fired from your job for being gay?

and homosexuality as a whole isnt something that needs to be debated, or the need to come out.  [edit: on a forum like this]

the fact is, many people who are gay live their whole life pretending to be something they arent, or wondering why they arent like other people.  why shouldnt they share when they are ready to?  coming out isnt an easy thing, and can be ridiculously hard.

i mean as heteros its easy to say, well i didnt need to tell anyone.  well cuz the whole world expected it of you.

i cant imagine what it feels like to have a part of you that no one knows about and that you feel pressure to keep hidden.  its got to be such a ... relief... and so scary... to finally say, hey this is me.  take it or leave it.

good friend of mine came out-- and plenty left it.  hurt him to the core.  how many friends does he have to lose simply b/c he feels romantic love for the same sex?  how wrong is that?  love is love.

Coming out on a public forum is the easy part-- for every one who'll bash you, there are usually a couple who will back you up.  It's coming out to family and friends that's the hard part, especially if you live in a conservative place.

babysteps in coming out. Sometimes the more you do it the easier it becomes.. Maybe Katie just needed to say it out loud to make it feel somewhat real. Often words in your brain don't feel like the truth until you can get them out.. Either way, I commend you Katie for taking this step and being real with your self.   take it one step at a time..

Personally, I don't think it matters, in the big scheme of things, whether you're gay or straight. Certainly not for weight loss, in any case.
