:) Im gonna make my Husband a very happy man
I last saw him on June 17th O8 when he shipped to Ft Jackson for basic training. I weighed 198. My first goal was atleast 10 lbs but then I got bold and said why not 175. Im not sure why that number stuck out to me but I went for it. Well I got on the scale and It is 175 exactly, :) so I am ecstatic :) :), 2 weeks or so early. I wrote him telling him I am struggling with my weight loss so he can be surprised but I messed up by telling him that none of my old clothes fit and I have to get our wedding ring resized. So who knows, but I went to Victoria Secret and I tried on some cute lingerie and I didn't look fat in it so thats another small victory :). Its so nice to be able to wear medium clothes again. I still have 30 more lbs to get ready to join the army myself but I'm far ahead of the cc rate. I'm so hungry though I want to keep losing till I see him on the 28th but if I can just maintain it then I will be happy.
That's really cute :) I stepped on the scale this morning, and I am 0.8 lbs away from no longer being obese. I'm stoked. You'll have to let us know how he reacts :)
Congrats, you've done AWESOME! Keep your goals in mind, you can do anything you put your will towards accomplishing...and yes, let us know how surprised/pleased he is...but don't go into TOO much detail! LOL :)
When my husband left for Iraq in February, I weighed close to 235lbs, if not 240lbs.
I'm now 203lbs and it's been about 7 months since he's been gone. He'll be home sometime within the next few weeks. He knows I've lost weight (and has seen pictures), but I don't think the pictures do the weight loss justice. I always look a lot bigger in pictures than I do in real life--so when he finally gets to see me in person, I imagine his reaction will be very different, indeed.
I plan to be 199 or smaller by the time he gets back. I still have about 3 weeks to do it, which is a good thing indeed, because I'll certainly reach my goal by then. I want to continue losing weight after he gets back, but I'm sure he will help me with that. If anything, I've learned to enjoy different types of food and have learned to cook a bit more, so I can help him lose some weight, as well. (Marine Corps deems him to be "too fat," though I think he's fine the way he is. He wants to lose weight, though, and is unhappy with his own body, so I'll be sure to help him once he gets back. <3)
Great job! May I ask how you guys how you did it - how many calories/day, how much you exercised? I'm getting aggravated with my plan and want to try something different for awhile.

The only thing I really did differently was begin counting my calories. I found out I was actually undereating for my activity level (lightly active) and my weight/height. I'm only 5'2'', and when I joined CC I was 225. I started losing weight in March at 235lbs and got stuck at 225 before I found CC.
When I began eating a bit more (1600-1800 calories a day), the weight began coming off. I lose somewhere between 1 and 1.5lbs a week, and the only activity I really get nowadays is the occasional running around and heavy lifting I partake in at work. =) I'm a cashier, so I'm on my feet all day to begin with, along with the occasional running around the entire store or lifting objects 25-50lbs (I work for Sam's Club, where we sell things in bulk). So far I've been on track with my weight loss with a couple of weeks here and there where my body stabilized. Usually adding in some DDR or the occasional weight-lifting helps me break the plateau and I continue losing again.
When the husband comes home, though, I imagine I'll be bumping up to "moderately active" not too long afterwards, as we'll be playing DDR quite a bit more together, and lifting weights at home and engaging in walks together once we're both home from work. Not to mention we plan to buy the Wii Fit, as well. I want to maintain the steady weight lose of 1-1.5lbs a week or so for quite a while, until I get closer to my ultimate goal weight...which is still undetermined at this point in time. I've never been smaller than 170lbs as far as I can remember, so I imagine once I hit that again I will have a better idea of how much weight I want to lose.
congrats!!! my bf is at basic traing in ft jackson right now too!
Yay! Congrats on the weight loss! My husband is in TX for pre-deployment training. I have lost 15 lbs since he left. He'll come home for a few weeks before he would get deployed, so I fully intend to keep losing.
Ghanja, I am sure he is going to love the new sexier you (I'm sure he loved the sexy you before, but now, you're just a better version!) Congratulations, Honey!
Congrats to everyone that's lost! Especially Armandleg! I hope for your husband's safe return! Only 3 more weeks!!
That's awesome!! You're going to have so much fun surprising him. :)
My boyfriend is a bush pilot and is on site for 2 weeks, then home for 2 weeks, repeat. So, every time he comes home, I've lost another 2-4 lbs from when he left. It's fun meeting him at the airport every month. I don't notice the loss as much since I see myself every day, so it's great to hear "wow you've lost more weight" every time he comes home. :)

I always make the joke that I'll have the following framed:
Output > input
Without, of course, going to extremes - input is necessary, and output is inevitable. But keeping this in mind reminds me that I can eat as much of whatever I want, as long as I'm willing to do activities to support it. And since I'm lazy as all get out most days, that just means eating less and taking a walk once a day.
aww thanks ladies for the kind comments :). Ive been working out like mad and eating at the low end of the calorie spectrum. They have a buffet on family day and Im really debating on whether I should eat and enjoy myself, or cut back and then just splurge when I get back home.
CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss!!! Here's hoping you and your hubby have an extra special reunion!
Aw, that's so cute, and congratulations! Make sure you post what his reaction is! I also look up to you, and applaud you on your braveness joining the army, good job :)
Congrats! Your hubby seeing you is going to be awesome. And just think about all the people you are going to run into when you are just out and about at the store! That's always a good feeling.
