Im...im...so happy *sniffs* Penut butter heaven
Well, today my powdered penut butter came! If anyone missed the penut butter lovers thread from before... there is apparently a powdered penut butter where most the fat has been squeezed out (making it a LOT less calories).
I dont really order things from the internet...but decided it would be worth it if it really was what they said (i have been avoiding penut butter like the plague for a longgg time because of the huge calories).
Anyway, this stuff really is just like penut butter! It tastes just as nutty and creamy (even more creamy with more water added).
Calories? 54 calories for 2 tablespoons of powder!!!
Another nice suprise was the high protein content! 4.3g per serving (2 tablespoons)... thats not shabby (i have been eating a lot of bread, so protein is good). *total is 2.8g fat, 94mg sodium, 3.7g carbs, 4.3g protein*
Just wanted to give an update on it (for those that saw the thread before). I think me and this stuff will have a long and happy future together ><

mmm i got mine i luv it.. my two year old ate it plain in a little bowl and then came back and asked for more, so if that doesnt say something.. i even mix it in pancake batter this weekend for the girls..yumyum
I was suprised at how very reasonably priced this is. I am ordering some for myself. Will throw in my 2tbsp when I try it.
lori - i am really sorry to point this out... but as an english teacher (who doesn't bother with caps while writing), i have to say:
it is PEAnut, not PEnut. what you have been writing actually sounds like "puhnet".
sorry to be the grammar police, but it was bugging me...

haha woops, wasnt paying much attention to it >< See? i had been avoiding it so much i forgot what it looked like typed!
for those of you who have PB2 already, did it take forever to come? i'm getting really impatient!! >:(
but... i'm so excited!
but... i'm so excited!
Ya mine is taking forever also... a lil over than a week about now I think
i'm either going to order this powder stuff or better n' peanut butter. which do u guys think is better?
It took awhile to come through the mail. Probably a week at least. I was kind of surprised by that, but it was well worth the wait.
So I am expecting my jar any day now, got it off e-bay since you have to order a minimum of 4 jars from the PB2 website. I'm really excited to try it! But anyway, I have a suggestion that I keep pushing in various posts. I'm really excited to try it with the powdered stuff, but a snack I grew up on as a kid was called "puddin'wiches" which consisted of mixing peanut butter with plain yogurt (the unsweetened stuff) schmearing it between graham crackers and freezing. OH SO DELISH, but now I take the mixture and dip apple slices or banana in it and it's so good. Somebody bold should try it, I know it sounds weird. If you must sweeten, add a little honey. YUM-MY. I'm so pumped to try it with the powdered stuff as to be much lower cal.
A couple of months ago I posted in my journal about how much I loved the powdered peanut butter from Bell Plantation - a.k.a. PB2. Unfortunately my purchases with that company have been nothing but trouble. TWICE they have sent me incomplete orders and they have not made good on either order though I have tried to contact them several times. They don't answer their phone and they do not reply to emails. They don't even respond to the dispute I started in PayPal.
However today I received a very nicely wrapped 5lb bag of roasted peanut flour from this company.

I ordered it Monday by phone and it arrived today. It is the same thing as the PB2 and it is much less expensive. All you have to do is add your own salt and sweetner. I think that's all the better. AND THEY ANSWER THEIR PHONE AND EMAILS UNLIKE BELL PLANTATION.
So for anyone who liked the PB2 I would suggest this as a solution.
Here is the nutritional info from the package:
1/4 cup of peanut flour (I bought the 12% fat flour)
120 cals
6 grams fat
0 cholesteraol
9 protein
5 g carbs
2 grams fiber

Gah, I'm so bad at maths. Is that better than PB2 cal wise?? I dont knwo the stat for 1/4 c of PB2. Can someone weigh it so I can figure it out.\I'm looking into it as Im from Australia and to get PB2 would cost $53 US in postage. Eep!
1/4 cup would be 4 tablespoons. So PB2 is 54 per 2 Tbsp and this stuff is 60 cals. I would say it is the same. I actually think the byrdmill brand is a bit more flavorfull too.
Ok, thats cool. I bought recuced fat PB today and thought it was lacking in taste (but health wise, its owrth it )
I'm too scared to get 100% peanut as i mgiht not like the taste (or lack of) so even more nervous about peanut poweder.

r_h are you talking about natural style or the commercial stuff with hydro oils and HFCS? Because the reduced fat in natural style has just as much flavor as the regular stuff.
Its commerical and has vege oil, sugar and salt. So its a reduction of cals, and even tho it has oils, its quite thick. Maybe the lack of fat means I cant taste it as much (fat helps transmit taste apparently)
I know, bad girl, should have gone natural but I was scared I'd hate it and it costs a fair whack more. Next time I'll try 100% peanut. Hopefully by then I will have found some peanut powder tho - I cant tolerate much fat, physically (makes me sick) but i LOVE PB. :(

For those of you who like PB2, is it anything like Better N' Butter? I wasn't too fond of that.
I have read this post and commented before. I always see that people make new comments, but I try not to come here and read them because it always makes me want a P.B sandwich! I really want one right now but it's to late to eat one. I guess I will go ahead and have one tommorrow or I will be unsatisfied all day! should I have it in the morning on one piece of wheat toast or in the afternoon on two pieces of wheat bread? I love it both ways! I wish it was tommorrow already!
Not sure if anyone else has posted this but here are some recipe's that include PB2

Well - I bought the 4 jars of powdered peanut butter but, I have to tell you.. I was not impressed. :(
2 tbls of powder + 1 tbls of water gives you about a tablespoon of peanut butter... so, if you wanted 2 tbls of actual pb.. you would need to double the powder..
Making 4 tbls powder = 112 calories which is about 2 tbls worth of pb.. so that's only about 70 calories less.. which is still OK but not as good as I had hoped.
Also - it leaves a bad aftertaste and I don't like the smell.. it's not as good as pb... but, who knows.. maybe I can make myself like it..
Does anyone want to buy a jar from me? lol

Ya I noticed the aftertaste too. Especially if I eat it on an apple. So I add a little more splenda and salt and it seems to make it a little better. I also think that the peanut flour I got form byrdmills has a little more bulk and seems to make more peanut paste. I just made some today with 1 cup of flour, 1/3 cup of splenda and a scant tsp of salt. I had to use 3/4 cup of water and it made a full cup of peanut butter paste that was very thick. I was just commenting to my daughter that I thought it made more. But maybe it's my imagination. I do think the flavor of the byrdmills flour is a little fuller though.
