Im...im...so happy *sniffs* Penut butter heaven

Quote  |  Reply
Well, today my powdered penut butter came! If anyone missed the penut butter lovers thread from before... there is apparently a powdered penut butter where most the fat has been squeezed out (making it a LOT less calories).

I dont really order things from the internet...but decided it would be worth it if it really was what they said (i have been avoiding penut butter like the plague for a longgg time because of the huge calories).

Anyway, this stuff really is just like penut butter! It tastes just as nutty and creamy (even more creamy with more water added).

Calories? 54 calories for 2 tablespoons of powder!!!

Another nice suprise was the high protein content! 4.3g per serving (2 tablespoons)... thats not shabby (i have been eating a lot of bread, so protein is good). *total is 2.8g fat, 94mg sodium, 3.7g carbs, 4.3g protein*

Just wanted to give an update on it (for those that saw the thread before). I think me and this stuff will have a long and happy future together ><

red_herring - do you like eating peanuts?  Because that's exactly what natural tastes like.  there is no "lack" of taste, unless you're looking for some kind of flavor beyond that of the peanut.
:( Not really... maybe if i eat a whole handful at once. To me, PB is like super concentrated PB. Damnnit. Why does fatty oily stuff taste so good. Its ok, people say you get used to it. At first I didnt like pumpkin, but love it now, so I might get used to it, huh? I just need a fatty tasty food that i can have in little quantities, cos I'm kinda intol to large amount of fat (like a glass of full cream milk) but still NEED fat in my diet
ok, I finally tried Better N'Peanut Butter and it's great!  100 cal, 2.5 g fat, delicious.  A little sweet, but really tasty.
yumm. oh my mouth is practically watering right now (:

i don't have a credit card/checkbook, nor am i even old enough to order things online anyway, so if i propose this idea to my mom she'll look at me like i'm crazy. she already thinks i'm a "crazy dieter" and marvels at how i eat "too healthy for my age" (she's always trying to get me to eat more even when i'm full). so if i asked her to buy it for me she would not only gawk at the price, but probably check me in somewhere for an eating disorder (which i do not have, but she always says i do).

and not only would this be better for me, but it would be better for my dad (who has high blood pressure & needs to eat less fat & sodium- but doesn't) and the rest of the family too. *sigh* too bad my mom doesn't get it.
Where do I get it, and can I make fudge with it?
You can use it wherever PB is used - cookies, sauces, even on a PB&J. I WANTSOME!!
Google bell plantation and put your order in. If you're not in the US, postage is INCREDIBLY expensive, making it not worth it. I'll save my US $50 and buy more fruit and veg.

I just got my Byrd Mill peanut flour in the mail today.  I have been anxiously awaiting its arrival..... but I think it's GROSS!! The taste is SO harsh... because most people here seem to love it, I was hoping the awful taste is because I don't know the right amount of water, sugar, salt to mix in.  ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated- I was SO excited and am stuck with 3 lbs of this stuff!!

hi spek,

I got mine at www.byrdmill.com

earlier on this post you can read a lot about PB2, a similar product.. i was going to order PB2 but some posts talk about the company's poor delivery... and they were right- PB2 was back ordered for some ridiculous length of time- 5 to 9 weeks or something!

so i went ahead and ordered the product from Byrd Mill.  I believe that the only difference is that PB2's product has salt and sugar already added, and you add it yourself with Byrd Mill's.  If I could just figure out the right formula... !
Sorry spek. I've been looking for ages and cant get any for less than over $60 US for 4
I was thinking tho, maybe a few aussies who live near each other, could get an american pal to send 6 jars over. Its about $5US per jar. I dont know about postage but its cheaper than going through the company
I'm up for buying 2-3 jars, if we can find 2-3 more ppl, and a reliable US friend (I dont have anyone over there now :( )
Twice PB2 promised me a refund for product they never shipped and twice I did not receive the refund.

I bought the byrdmill flour and I think it tastes better then PB2 and yes you can add your own salt or sweetner if you like. Plus it is a good alternative flour for baking.
just a quick question for anyone who's bought it- are you buying 4 jars or is it seriously like $16 + s&h for one jar?

ahh, i just thought of a new recipe if i manage to convince my mom to buy this- mixing it in fat free cool whip! for some reason the thought of that recipe sounds amazing right now.
Would you mind listing all the ingredients of the Powdered  PEAnut butter?

Wow!! I have to try this stuff.  I've been going nuts trying to find pb that I can actually eat.  Whenever I sneak a tablespoon of the real stuff I feel so guilty!!  Thanks for the info
