I'm in highschool and I am looking for some support on weight loss!
Hi my name is Seaerra and I am a senior in high school. I have always struggled with my weight but last year I was able to get down to 130 pounds. My problem was once I lost my weight i didn't know how to maintain it so I am once again back at 170 pounds and desprate to loose the weight before I gain more. i can't really exercise because I recently have been diagnosed with heart and blood pressure problems that keep me on my butt all day. I am the type of person that eats when they are depressed and all this medical stuff has really got me down in the dumps. But I am sick of not feeling good about myself so I have decided to loose the weight. I am trying to loose just through diet since I can't really exercise right now. If anyone is looking for a buddy I sure would like that! I would be <3more than happy to give support to anyone that needs it as well. thanks so much!
Seaerra
Hola seaerra. :) Welcome.
Have you talked to your doctor about low-intensity work outs? Like, going for a long walk? I don't think that should be a problem with you, but I'm not a doctor, so be sure to find out! Walking can go a long way.
Seaerra I can't imagine you overweight, you look well pretty in your picture!!
My problem is that I eat when I'm bored :)

i lost over 30 pounds without any excercize whatsover, so you can totally lose the weight!
:)
I'm 16, from *sunny* (pfft) England. 5'8, weighing in at 140lbs, down from 170. I want to get down to 126 to begin with, no lower than 118.
I would love to buddy you! I need some buddying myself - I'm plateauing at the moment, and its so frustrating! Eating 1200-1400cals a day, doing 1+hrs exercise 6 days a week, drinking 2l of water a day...And still nothing. Gah!

wow...118 is awfully low for 5'8"
i wouldnt suggest going that low
but i do have an idea of something that could help you get out of your plateau.
try changing what you do for exercise AND, believe it or not, raise your intake of calories, at least for a short while.
by now, your body has started adapting to the exercise you do (if its the same thing everyday) and the number of calories you consume, so it burns less doing the same thing as before and and uses 1200 calories more efficiently.
changing your exercise and calories will get your metabolism out of the cycle it's in
Hey, seaerra. I get what you mean, about not being able to keep it off. If I ever actually lost any weight, that same thing would happen to me (lol).
If you're eating because you are depressed or bored, then I think I have a possible solution. I always want to do the same thing, only I stop wanting to eat if I pop in a stick of gum. Also, a lot of boredom snack cravings can be overcome if you start using your hands, so get out a deck of cards and start playing solitare. Keep your mouth and hands busy, and you should be fine!
If all else fails, visit this site, and respond to a few threads. I've found it's easier to stick to your own goals if you're encouraging others to stick to theirs.
i've actually gained :(
