Okay, I'm sure I have gotten peoples attention here with that title! lol  No....but really I am hot since I've started my new way of living.  I joined this site a month ago and have changed the way I eat and exercise.  Here are some of my stats.. I'm a 5'6", 51 yr old, female, I'm moderately overweight at 173 lbs.  I've been exercising 5x per week jog/walking and aerobic classes. I'm eating lots of fiber, veggies, fruits, lean protein, and whole grains.  I'm hardly eating any processed foods.  I do have a hypothyroid.  But the odd thing is I have hyperthyroid symptoms.  Like I have incredible energy.  I mean I feel like the Energizer bunny!  I also am experiencing my body temperature being hot at times.  Okay, you might think this is because I'm at the age of menopause, but this isn't like those hot flashes.  I've experienced menopausal hot flashes in the past, but this is not as intense.  So what gives? Why the energy, and why the heat?

Thanks!

You're burning energy... Like coal on a fire, your body is using up those excess fat stores and converting them to useable energy.  The definition of a calorie is something like the amount of energy it takes to heat one cubic centimetre of water by 1 C degree.  So burning calories generates heat.  You've also probably improved your circulation with the exercise.... and when the blood flows around a little quicker you're that bit warmer.   Your healthy high-fibre diet will be speeding up the transit time of food in your digestion and allow your liver and kidneys to remove waste more efficiently.  This natural 'detox' makes you feel more energetic.  'Living' whole food does that... 'dead' heavily processed junk leaves people lethargic, sluggish and just ever so slightly sick.  And vitamin and minerals don't just impact on the body but they also act as mood enhancers.

Enjoy it... this is what healthy feels like :-)

Thanks gi-jane.  That's what I thought, but wasn't sure.  I do remember when my hubby was super fit (that was a few years ago...) he would generate so much body heat it was too hot to cuddle under the covers.  It was weird.  Now I know why.
