All these posts on dieting and eating and losing weight, makes me want to eat. I think I'll have a bacon ranch salad for lunch from McDonalds.
It's a salad. It's gotta be healthy, right?

For OP, ^ that was sarcastic. your post in the other McD thread made me think maybe you wouldn't pick up on that? Or maybe you are being sarcastic yourself?? Clarify please!
Have you ever looked at the back of the paper mat they give you. In the back is all the calories that each item has and this is one person that will not eat salad at McDonalds. Maybe from the dollar menu that is 3/4 less the size of original.
Make a salad at home?
the salad I get there, is 430 calories.
I'm to lazy to make one at home. Most of hte calories is in the ranch dressing.
I used to eat hamburgers everyday for lunch, not anymore ... too old for that, it just adds to my weight (didn't before).
oh well, I need to try to even eat better.
I had a 200 calorie tuna salad.
I'm not hungry.
The calories for that salad (as listed on the McDonald's website) don't look too terrible. Really, the only thing that's technically unhealthy is the amount of sodium.
But as far as restaurant/fast food salads go, that one isn't actually THAT bad. =)
Well darling, it beats burgers and beer !!
Actually, I eat those salads almost everyday for lunch. I need to find something else. A previous poster mentoned a tuna salad for 200 calories, I need to jump on that boat and learn how to make one.
How do you make that ???
I got the tuna part down.
And bread.
Knowing CDC it involved tuna from a can and...that's probably it actually.

(100 cals) 1 CAN (dented from pavlovcat's head) of tuna in water, drained (The worst part of tuna IMO but Im too cheap to buy the packets)
some chopped onions, some chopped celery (like, 2 calories or something)
salt & pepper
(45 cals) 1 TBSP mayo
(30 cals) 2 TBSP yogurt (or low fat sour cream)
mixed together over a bed of lettuce (5 calories? anyway, I count about 20 calories for the veggies. guesstimate)
= 195
No bread. :D
I am fixin to go get me some blueberry yogurt.
I thought Mayo had a lot of fat.
Well, I will have that for lunch tomorrow. I will give it a try.

its kraft olive oil mayo (the ff mayo makes me hurl) - best tasting lower cal mayo EVER.
But measure the TBSP of mayo. Its not nearly as big as I used to think LOL

thats what ff mayo is. *hurl*
I made the sacrifice I could live with! ;)
One time I read a forum that said mayo and butter milk together or mayo and plain yogurt also works.
is there a Panera bread near you??!?! yum get your salads there... soooo good (for you, too)
I use low fat miracle whip. It's only 20 calories per tablespoon. I don't like real mayo. I don't like the ff miracle whip either. The low fat has good flavor and less calories than the real stuff.
Try adding a little low fat or ff ranch dressing for a little extra flavor. Maybe a little garlic powder.
You can even make a low cal chicken salad from canned chicken as well. Just ask CDC.

You gotta be careful at Panera though.
I used to work there and some of there stuff is pretty bad for you, your almost better off eating at mcdonalds with some of their stuff.
Oh man, don't get the dressing, whatever you do! Go buy Jenny Craig dressing packets, seriously. My mom loves them even though she's not on a diet (far from it.. eek, she's so thin) so she buys them monthly from Jenny Craig!
Trust me, I work at McD's and even the salads aren't that healthy.
