I'm interested in your opinions...little britain USA??
has this show aired yet in the US??
Little Britain had been a hugely successful comedy sketch show in the UK and theyve recently made a new series which will be shown in America aswell! If anyones seen it i was just wondering what you think of it?? Me and my dad were having a debate last night at whether you'll be appauled at the british sense of humour of whether you will actually think its good
thanks
i think Little britain was barely funny when it was first on in the UK; the exception was vicky pollard - but since then its got progressively boring and vulgar, none of the impersonations or 'characters' are funny, and I think its ridiculous that of all the genuinely funny shows on tv, thats the one that goes to america and is being billed as 'representing the english sense of humour' - whatever!!
its an awful, awful show.
I am a British TV junkie, would rather watch BBC stations then the ones here. But I never got into Little Britain.
The first I'd heard of this was actually last night, while watching Monty Python on BBC America. They mentioned that both Little Britain and (another show whose name I can't remember) were being made into American versions this TV season.
My reaction: "Little Britain? In America? What are they thinking!?"
Without having seen the American version, I have to say that I don't see how the show will be anything near the same as the British version. Many Americans don't "get" British humor, so like "The Office," the American version will probably just be its own, separate show that's based upon the British one. (I don't like the American version of that show, either.)
That being said, I think Little Britain is funny and I like to watch it when I can. I'll probably just keep on watching BBC America though, and not try too hard to find the American version. ;)
There's bound to be at least 2-3 episodes out by now, as I downloaded and watched the first episode (out of curiosity) about 2 weeks ago. It's actually very similar to the British series (in style and format), except they've introduced some American characters and stereotypes. I'd have to agree on the 'vulgar' comment made above, and also admit that this show isn't one of my favourites when it comes to British humour.
Having said that, shows like 'QI' and 'Have I Got New For You' are GENIUS. I'm obsessed with them.
I have watched all episodes of the British version of Little Britain.
LOVE IT ! I think its a great show, Im a huge fan of british comedy, now i want to check out the american version too =)

I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I don't watch it on TV. My step-dad got me into it and we Netflix it, so I knew about it prior. Maybe wouldn't have like it as much on TV, but I doubt it, since I love English comedy. I also quite enjoy the English version of The Office, The Extras, Father Ted....
I don't think most Americans will get it though. Unless they butcher the hell out of it like they did with The Office. (I'm sorry, but they really bear no similarities.)
I absolutely loved the naked lady fat suit.
I wish I had one of those! God, talk about an awesome Halloween costume.

That's interesting because most Brits I know prefer the US version of The Office to the original UK version.
That said, I love British humour and get on best with my British friends here because our sense of humour is similar. I've never heard of this show, however, and won't see it Korea so I guess my posting was pointless.
Call me Bubbles - everybody does!

I can see why someone would prefer the US Office, because it is a lot more optimistic. The character's aren't so hopelessly stunted. They all have redeeming qualities. But that's not reality, IMO. Some people, like David Brent, just suck.
i caught one of the episodes and i really enjoyed it! I absolutely loved the sketch with Rosie O'donnell. The other sketches were pretty funny too. I would watch the show again if i happen to catch it on.
Unless you find constant penis, urine and gay sex jokes funny (and a cue from the audience too no less), then you will be amused. I, on the hand, was not. :/ I thought it was all sorta gross.
I thought it was great. Lucas and Williams are both really talented and I couldn't get enough of them. I've seen all of the Little Britain:USA so far. I happen to like gross humor. And Bubbles :D
Can't stand it!
I've seen a few episodes now, its ok but the original one is better. Im glad something of the UK is in the US now. we gave them the office they made their own, we gave them life on mars, they made their own... Get your own ideas and stop remaking and that goes for all the classic movies too
