I'm a little lost...
So I've been looking around the site and reading but I'm a little confused about the meters.
For the food meter, when I first set up my account and put in a goal weight and it gave me back a modified goal date considering how much I wanted to lose and gave me an allowance of 2000. But then I got a little confused because when I went to look at edit settings and clicked the advice link I again put in my goal weight and it gave me 1482 cals. Which do I follow? Why the discrepancy?
Also for the activity meter, do we use this in comparison to the food meter? For example, by the end of the day would we always make sure to have this higher than the food meter? What if we just eat a little less than our allowance?
Help please!!! This site got me super motivated and excited but I'm a little confused.
Thanks!!!
The food meter's standard setting is 2000 calories, that's not specific to you so stick to the 1482 calories. You can change the setting on the food meter by going to Account Settings and changing the daily goal thing. You definitely want the activity meter to read more at the end of the day than the food meter, it's essentially intake vs outake for you to compare
thank ya!!! i didnt realize 2000 was the standard
Not wanting to contradict anyone but depending on your starting weight and how high it is compared to your goal weight, just watch that 1482 isn't too low to start ie I started at 210 pounds and goal was 165 pounds and my starting cals were 2000 and if I had started at 1482 I would have had huge problems because it was too low for me to start on. Just a heads up in case you are a heavier gal like me with a longer term goal weight, if you only have 20 pounds to lose then the 1482 may well be the right goal for you.
Aim to have your activity meter at around 500 to 700 higher than your food meter that should give you the recommended 1-2 pounds per week loss. If you only have around 100-200 cals difference you might struggle to see much in the way of results :)
Hah thanks. I'm pretty excited about this website but I didn't really know the best way to use it. I was wondering what difference I would have to have with the activity versus food meter to get my weekly poundage. I'm a starting 149 to 130 and I've been trying the 1482 and it's been pretty easy. I'm a little less everyday but I try to squeeze in something heathy (produce is so expensive...). Thanks so much!!!
