Im not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon because im still lossing weight and im to much of a high risk because of my highblood pressure and diabetes.I cant go on birth control because of the bloodpressure so my husband and I had been useing the pull out method and I havent gotten prego that and i know when im ovulating but on tuesday he could not pull out fast anough and it happen. and I got my period the same day it it possiable for me to get prego even if i got my period the same day. plz help????![]()
It's very unlikely.... but if pregnancy is a big risk for you, you need to find something a little more reliable than 'timing'... Condoms for example.
yeah, the pull-out method is notoriously ineffective. condoms, a diaphram, or an IUD would give you some peace of mind.
ya i know but the only thing i can do is get my tubes tied or my hubby gets sniped and condoms but when ur married after awhile condoms are annyoing i have a over sized uterus so a diapram and iud are out i have bad luck im trying to save for my hubby to get sniped but times are really bad for us so i just hope it doesnt happen.
condoms are annoying? you said that pregnancy is high risk for you. against that, i'd say the annoyance of condoms is pretty minor.
if times are bad financially then id say the cost of condoms is much cheaper than the cost of another child.....a condom will do you much better than just "hope"![]()
I'ld go see your doctor about this, there has to be another method of birth control that you can use, nuvaring maybe? Pulling out is not effective at all, I wouldn't even risk it if I were you.
Being married is a terrible excuse not to use condoms, imo. Unless you don't plan on ever having anymore children EVER, then obviously surgery for either one of you is the best plan. Have you tried the Depo shot? I have high blood pressure so I was put on depo instead of a birth control pill, I'm also taking labetalol, which is a high blood pressure medication to control it. So with depo+blood pressure pills I'm sitting at 120/90 everytime I've had it checked. I know there are blood pressure pills for diabetics because my grandmother is on some. You should see your doctor about taking pills/shot + blood pressure control meds together.
That, or condoms.
There's also an arm implant.
I forgot about norplant - the arm implant. I'm sure insurance would cover it is you have insurance.
You can't get Norplant in the U.S. anymore, not for years now.
To answer the OP question, if you started your period the same day it is highly unlikely that you are pregnant, but you definitely need to make finding a safe, effective method of birth control your top priority.
I am 90% sure you won't get preggers. Your period started that day? Your egg is already dead. Ovulation occurs for one day 2 weeks before your expected period. That's when the acid protecting your cervix is less acidic to the little swimmers. You need alot of juice around ovulation to actually make one of those babies.
Or so says the Science video I had to watch in Child & Adolescent Psych. the other day.
When you say you know when you ovulate, what do you mean?
I ask because most women operate under the assumption that ovulation occurs on day 14 every cycle (with day 1 of the cycle being the first day of your period). This is a fallacy. For example, I ovulate anywhere between day 16 and day 21 of my cycles, and I get my period a mere 11 days after ovulation.
Around the actual day of ovulation, a woman is actually fertile for roughly 5-7 days every month. In theory, one could have sex on a Monday and get pregnant when she ovulated on Friday if the "conditions" were flawlessly perfect. Conditions including quality of cervical fluid, DH sperm motility and right cervical position. Granted, the odds of that happening are low, but it is possible.
The only time any birth control will fail is when you are fertile, so that means if you really want to avoid any more babies, you need to know exactly what days you are fertile and abstain from sex during those days. That will guarantee you don't conceive. If you can't abstain, you can use a condom during those days and be 98% sure you don't conceive.

There's Implanon in the US.
No it's not possible to get pregnant if you had sex the same day you got your period... and like other posters have said, I'm pretty sure that a child, especially one that you are not trying to have, is more expensive and more "annoying" than simply using a condom.
If you're seriously done having children than get him/you snipped. A child born this year will end up costing you over 160,000$ on average to raise to the age of 18. Therefore surgery is cheaper. I don't know about the US system, but getting tubes tied is covered in Canada. Perhaps it is covered by your medical plan as well? If not, the cost of the surgery is still only 1/20th the price of raising a child. In response to the pregnancy question, YES it is possible, but not likely.
Hey thank you all for responding to my post for help. I really know all the things you guys told me about. My husband and i do use condoms but like i said when ur married and very in love condoms do become a head ach and we are very careful but he is not my boyfriend that i see once in a while we live together and are very active. I dont have insurence and my husband doent either so for those who do God bless you. but like i said im saving for my husband to get operated. but i really just had a question about if i could get pregnate the same day i got my period everyone has those scares and even on birth control u can get prego nothing is 100% So thanks and have a blessed day. ![]()
I've always heard that people who use the rhythm method are called parents. If you don't want to use condoms, can't blame you for that, then the best idea is for one of you to get the surgery. It's easier for him, but I think that now it's pretty easy for both of you. That is of course if you don't plan to ever have any more kids. I don't know if the Depo shot is an option for you. Would it be also contraindicated with HBP?
Hi caverlady the depo would be bad because once they inject the shot there is no going off so it would be bad for my HBP right now my BP is great due to the diet and weight loss so no DR. will put me on any meds that affect the BP in any way. Thanks for understanding.
Pulling out does not work!

Yes, this is true. When I was put on Depo my blood pressure went straight up, I was 140-150/90, so that's when I was put on medication. I think the mix of depo+my weight caused it. I also don't have health insurance, but there are places you can go to that will let you see a doctor and get nearly free meds based on your income (you provide a paycheck stub). I pay $9 for my depo every three months and my blood pressure pills is also every 3 months from walgreens' (similar to walmart's) prescription plan. It costs me $12.99 when I refill, I take it twice a day.
Just a thought, something you can maybe try while saving. Also, remember the surgery is permanent for women and may be reversed for men.
I know pulling out is dangerous, but my parents did it for 10 years of their marriage before getting pregnant with me, so... yeah. I don't think unmarried individuals or those who can't afford children to practice that method simply because some semen can be found in the pre-ejaculation that leaks out during or near the higher peaks of um... excitement. It can't be felt by either party and is the main reason you get pregnant during that method (other than being too slow pulling out ;P).
How many times a week can I eat tilapia?
There is no limit on tilapia. Certain oily fishes and regional fishes may limited due to their risk of contamination with mercury and other substances... Read more
