hey! i totally share your goal and my stats are pretty close. i'm 5'5" and currently 138, started at 140. My goal is to tone up and lose the fat. i don't consider myself overweight but I think I could use some improvements. I've been on C-C for about a month and a half. If you want someone to email or what not, I'm open for that. I'm on C-C all the time so I can try to help whenever you need me :) Let me know!

p.s. i like your name!
sstreck!!!! HI!!! wow that is so cool! so have you found anything that works? like what kind of exercise you do and what is your cal intake? and yes yes i will Pm you for sure :)
My stats aren't exactly the same, but my goals are, so count me in too!  I'm female, 5'3'' and currently around 112 (give or take a few--mostly give...).  I don't really want to lose much "weight" but I would love to tone up my body and lose "fat."  Check out my profile, and feel free to message me!
Almost the same here! I'm 5'5''-5'6''ish lol, and as of today in the morning i weighed in at 134.5. :D
Hi!  I'm 5'4", and 133 pounds.  Thinking about trying to tone up as well as lose a little weight, anyone have any suggestions??

well for burning that fat you def. have to do cardio. cardio, cardio, cardio. running, biking, swimming, elliptical, anything that will keep your heart rate up for a decent amount of time. also, keep your body guessing. don't perform the same robotic exercise routine everyday. change it up. i like to go to classes at my community center. like kick boxing, body sculpting, etc. i do something different everyday and then i don't get bored, and neither does my body :)

for calorie intake, it changes everyday. depending on what i did for exercise. i try to keep my deficit less than 1000 calories but keep it more than 750. i think a 1000 calorie deficit is too much for your body so i try to stay away from that. i calculate it everyday and figure out my limit of calories per each day. kinda crazy, but i like it because it keeps me inline. anymore questions, just throw them out there. here to help!!
hey guys!

i'm 5'6" as well but at 144lbs. my goal is 135 and i'm slowly shedding the pounds.  i've already lose about 13 pounds in 2 months through lots of cardio and counting calories.

so count me in on this journey to lose 9 more pounds :)  in order to lose this last bit of weight, i'm basically zig-zagging calories and putting in more strength training into my workouts.
I'm only 5'2", but I started out here in January at 126 or so (I was a little afraid to step on the scale right after the holidays). I stayed the same weight all through high school and college, but during my second year of marriage I was taking classes and working from 8am to 8pm and Burger King was the only place that took credit cards in between! Anyway, after six months, I'm down to about 112. Trouble is, I've gotten comfortable and a bit lazy. I'm happy with my weight (even through my college weight was 105), but I do need to tone and lose fat. Six months is a long time for someone who never had to work to stay thin or think about what she ate! So keep up the good work and I'd love to hear how you're doing in the months ahead! I know I have so much more energy and I feel healthy. My husband and I took a six-mile bike ride while on vaccation in Colorado last week - I never could have done that before :)
melt-the-fat, how are you progressing with your goals?

i finally lost a pound more and i feel like my goal is becoming more feasible :)

but one thing i've noticed is that i'm not really losing weight on my belly area.  and now it's becoming more noticeable since i've lost weight on my upper body and hips.... the flabby belly is showing through all my clothes!!!  so i think i need to really focus on that but am not sure what to do... blech.

hope everyone is having a great friday!
im 5'6 and weigh 134.  I weigh myself once a month and I weighed myself today and I had only lost ONE pound! i was very upset. So far I have lost 18. Current goal is 4 pounds by next month. In total I would like to lose 14 more pounds.

I just need motivation. I just give up and start eating. i LOVE food lol
melt the fat- I'm 5' 6 3/4" (I'm had to throw in that extra height, hehe) and currently weigh 135.  My weight tends to fluctuate between 130 and 140- thats when I know I'm drinking too much on the weekends.  My goal is to get between 120-125.  I find that eating well comes easily to me.  But working out consistently is tough- my motivation disappears the moment I plop my butt on the couch.  What's the most difficult thing for you?

Tip: make it a goal to get the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables AND chug water like it's your job : )
Hey guys -

I'm 5'6" and 137 today, started calorie count at 150.  I'm getting closer toward my goal of 130, but I'm still REALLY flabby and would love to tone-up.  I don't really care what the scale says, anymore, I just want to fit back into my clothes!!!
hello hello :) thanks all for replying!! do you think we should form a group or challenge? we all really do have similar stats and goals!!!

cplatt -- good question -- the most difficult thing for me is...maths. ok, i can add up all the food i had and come up with how many cals i had, but no way i know how much i burned, the calculators here and on other sites spit out numbers that i completely don't trust...but i actually have an old heart rate monitor which also gives the burnt cals, so maybe i'll dig it up from my closet... and trust that? anyway i think it is only an estimate, an no way the machine can know how much efforet i've really put in the exercise or what my bmr really is,,, anyway i eat around 1400 cals and burn around 300 and i think i'll try to go like this for a while ans see what happens.

otherwise so far so good -- i'm not bad at keeping the cal limit and as for the motivation for exercise, i just don't expect too much from my self, some low impact aerobics from a dvd or a bike ride, something i know i can do :)

it is also interesting to see the analysys of what i eat - i noticed even though i'm good on cals i'm also high on fat (but luckily low on cholesterol as i have a lot of fish and such) so i'll try to work on that....

god, i talk a lot :) so to sum up -- should we form a group or have a challenge or something??? great to be doing it with you out there!!!
Looks like this thread lost a little steam.  How was everyones weekend?  Any challenges or accomplishments?

I didn't have anything planned AT ALL- the first time in a long time.  So I made a point of eating well, getting a hardcore workout in, and chugging water.  I drank 3 gallons all weekend!  I didn't really lose any weight, but I didn't gain either.  And I'm still pretty sore from my workout, which I love because it meant I challenged different muscles.

Regarding the calorie calculators- I use those as a rough estimate.  There is now way to actual know your metabolic rate unless you are hooked up to one of those machines on a treadmill/stationary bike that measures your metabolic activity.

hey cplatt..good job with the weekend!! i love the sore feeling too, makes me feel so good :)

and i think your right about the losing steam. let's keep this going. so my weekend was pretty good. i'm so proud of myself because i actually was good ALL weekend. that is my goal from now on. i do so well during the week and then the weekends come and i totally lose control. so from now on weekends are my challenges. but not this weekend. i totally rocked it :) it felt so good to actually stay within a reasonable calorie intake, since i don't do much exercise on the weekends, which i want to change too. i go almost twice a day all week and then on the weekends its like my relax period. but i think im too lax. so i need to change that.

aaaand, i'm so mad because i took a walk on the beach this weekend and now i have this huge blood blister on my foot!! how am i supposed to work out with this thing on me?! i'm really disappointed, especially cause now i have to lower my calorie intake by ALOT since i'm not burning all the calories i usually burn :( this week is gonna be rough. now that i wont be at the gym after work, i'll be at home, with all that food staring me in the face just begging me to eat it. gotta be strong though. this would be quite the accomplishment if i can resist :) hope my blister clears up soon.

wow, sorry it was so long. how was everyone else??
hey guys!

sstreck -- sorry to hear about the blister. but i would suggest take care of it so it doesnt get infected or anything.

great job on the workouts and eating right.

i've been doing okay but this week is very bad and i haven't been able to get in my workouts.  but tonight i plan to go for a good cardio workout and some weights. can't wait!

i'm still hovering around 143-144. i wish i could break through this and get into the low 130s!  but it is going to take some time....

ap2000- thanks for the suggestion. its actually gotten much better and its only been two days =] i was able to get a pretty good workout yesterday and today i plan to go to kickboxing. im hoping it doesn't pop cause this class tends to get pretty intense. we'll see.

its great to see youre so excited about your workouts. most people dread them. but i like getting in there too! makes me feel so much better after a lazy day at work.

..and no worries, you'll break through your hover. just keep pushing! keep up the good work everyone!!! =]
hi...i'm 5'5 1/2, 138lbs...my BF% is 27.5 eventhough i wear a size 6-8 :( i really really need to tone up as well! i aim to drop below 25% first, before i go all the way down to 19 or 20%

i was at 128lbs last year...n even at a size 4 my BF% was a 26% :(

so i'm aiming to maintain some muscles while losing weight this time to speed up the fat loss and make me look less flabby!

the best tip would be to work your muscles (which i never did in the past...sigh) along with doing some cardio!
Ok people, I have resorted to asking my boyfriend to harp on me about going to the gym.  That is my #1 issue- finding the motivationi to work out.  He seems to have an insane amount of self-discipline.  He doesn't over do it, but makes it part of his routine- everyday, right after work.  Maybe the extra pressure will help me get into a routine.  What works for all of you?

cplatt:  Chug water like it's your job??  That completely and utterly cracks me up.  I'm going to put it on a post-it on my computer as a constant reminder.   Thanks for the afternoon smile!  :-)
