Christinaa, you do need to eat. Your body is burning calories like crazy trying to fight the bug you have even though you are not doing an active activity. If you eat healthy foods and enough calories you will get well faster. Try soup, fruit juice, fruits and vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains. Also drink a lot of water and get some Vitamin C.
I understand that when you're sick you don't feel like eating, but if you don't eat, you just prolong the period when you cannot exercise.
Christina, have you talked to your parents and are you receiving treatment while you recover from anorexia?
If you are under the weather you need to eat or you will just delay your recovery not only from anorexia but also from whatever bug is ailing you. Please try to eat something, maybe some nourishing soup and some nice bread. Please talk to your parents or an adult, maybe they can make you something nice and soothing to your stomach while you recuperate.
Please take care of yourself.
Christina,
Perhaps thinking scientifically will help you rationalize eating more.
To stay alive and healthy in a sedentary state a woman needs at least 1200 calories per day. That is barely enough energy to keep your organs working, your heart beating, etc. Now, 1200 calories per day is considered "quite low"; you will almost definitely need more.
By the way, the recommended minimum for a teenage girl is 2200 calories per day.
Have faith in the numbers and please try to ignore what you feel and think about economizing your caloric intake. Or, on a more humorous note; Reject your reality and substitute it with the advice the caring people on this site are giving you.
