I'm new to CC
Just wanted to introduce myself...
My name is Melissa and I'm 28 years old. I'd love to lose about 50 pounds but 50 is such a huge number that after reading other people's entries I'm just going to start with 10 lbs and go on from there. I have never tried to diet before, but as I get closer to 30 I decided I needed to improve my overall health. I feel like all the extra weight is keeping me from playing enough with my kids.
BTW- all of the posts from other people like me are really helpful.

I'm quite new also to CC. I have been lurking around for three weeks, it really is a great place.
Like you I am also 28, and looking to lose around 35-40 pounds. My extra weight was/is definitely keeping me from living my life the way i would like to live it, but just in these few months i have been dieting and exercising i feel worlds better.

Welcome to CC your decision to get healthy is the first step to doing it. Keep your goals simple and realistic dieting is not enough consider an exercise program also.

I have started working out. I bought an exercise video that I'v been doing for the last 3 days and I also have a machine called the Gazelle that I try to walk/jog on at least 15 minuted every day. So far, so good.. I have lost a couple of lbs in the last 3 days but it's probably water weight. I am slightly sore from doing the video though and I know I am really sweaty by the time I'm done.

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
