Hello...

Im new to this forum and joined because Im having problems getting motivated.

I seem to always toggle between either eating healthy and not working out, or working out and not eating healthy.

Sometimes it seems like I cant get both of these completely in sync...

What do you do to stay motivated?

Hi summer_fairy

I could have written your post myself.. I do the exact same thing.. AND motivation is my biggest problem.. I need that push and never really seem to do it on my own.. I'm not sure why.. Its so frustrating!!!

Well I guess the best thing now to do is look for inspiration and motivation here.. CC has helped me to focus on getting my eating under control.. Now its working get my butt under control (lol).

Welcome

Mimi
well granted its good to exercise & diet there was a study done (dont remember the link) where they did 1/2 the people on just a diet & the other half Diet an exercise. At the end both groups lost about the same amount.

Im not recomending that you dont exercise BUT if it takes u a little while to get motivated to do both dont give up know that ull still lose the weight if eating properly, start slow walk 15min, cant get out march in place for 15, dance around with the music on, and activity helps you burn calories.
Yeah... I love to run, but not when I feel like I have to...but them sometimes I really want to run a lot (every day), and then I wont eat as well and I get frustrated because I think about how much quicker it would be to do both...

You're right though, I just need to take my time, because its really a lifestyle...

BTW, Mimi, I hear you on the butt thing!! =]
i had a gym partner (mom) and so that kept me going to the gym regularly.  then i didn't see a lot of weight loss for the first month or so, so i started eating right and BAM the weight started dropping.

i dont' do much to motivate me to eat healthy--luckily it's not something i really struggle with most of the time--but for exercise, i joined a couple of the challenges on this site (under Games forum) and that gets me to exercise regularly because i'm very goal-oriented.  i also give myself rewards periodically for hitting certain goals (lose a size, drop 5 lbs) and that keeps me going, too
