I'm new...
Hi Melissa!
Congrats on your wedding! That will be a great motivation for you to get to your pre-baby weight.
Life does get in the way of things doesn't it.
Anyway, good luck on your journey!
I just got married in sept 08. I am a newbie too and am looking to lose 30 pounds as well!
To keep myself motivated I have written all my goals in my 'vision' book. I keep a 'reasons' list in this book as well, so when I am feeling unmotivated I can read though this list and remember why I started this journey. I also thought it would be good to cut out and paste some things that inspire me to keep me on track.
So ..welcome and good luck to you!
Hi all! I'm Anne Marie and I'm still finding my way around this site. I joined 9 days ago after noticing the site in Women's Health. I find that magazine interesting! I started going at the exercise like a mad woman on New Year's and I've lost 4 pounds but I think I may have put it back on. I want to lose 30 and this site is helpful in telling me what is really in foods. I'm not sure if I"m calculating my portions right though. So I may not be eating as much as I think or I could be eating a lot more :P I know I'll get there.
Hey Melissa,
You are going to really love this site. I started in October and have totally changed my way of life. Eating much better and giving up all of the bad things I used to eat. It really wasn't hard due to knowing that I was going to have to update CC at the end of the night....I did not want to add the bad foods. Knowing how many calories are in things is huge. Also when I do eat stuff that is questionable...I simply use portion control and don't eat much.
This program is really easy to stick with as you will see. I took up running and have been building my endurance and strength. I am 42 years old and today completed a 6.2 mile run and bettered all my previous times while running farther than I have ever gone.
My advice on exercise....get a heart rate monitor and keep track of how things are affecting you. The biggest thing I learned from the monitor was to SLOW down. That helped me a lot because the exercising got easier. Not pushing myself so hard was a good thing.
Good luck.
Stick with this and you will have no trouble hitting your goal.
