I'm New and Looking for Buddies with Similar Goals of 15 lbs or less

Quote  |  Reply

Hi there,

I've decided to get serious about making some changes.  I am currently weighing 134 lbs at 5'6", which represents a 10 lb weight gain in the last year.

My goal is to lose 14 lbs and get down to 120.  I plan to cut alcohol, make healthier eating choices, and try to keep it under 1600 calories a day.  I also want to start working out more regularly.  I'd like to start doing early morning work outs every day of the week, alternating 3 mile walk/jog with weights on the other day.

If you would like to keep eachother informed and accountable, let's start a support group.

THANKS AND GOOD LUCK!

hi, im 22, 5"8, 133lbs and want to get down to 120 too!!

so we have the same challenge ahead of us!

this will be great for motivation

thanks

Hey! I'm 5'6", and I'm currently trying to get my weight down from 119lbs to 110lbs. At my highest, I weighed 135lbs though (I gained 25lbs over a little more than 2 years!), and I'm now trying to return to my starting weight...

I began calorie counting and exercising when I was 125lbs (I plateaued there after losing 10lbs from slightly healthier eating (fruits everyday, reduced junk, a pescetarian diet)), and I've lost 6 lbs since (over about 7 weeks).

Your exercise plan sounds great, though it might be tough to keep to unless you have already been exercising regularly (weights training left my body feeling a little like lead the days after). All the best though! (: Your goals sound really sensible, so I'm guessing that if things work out, you'll be losing about a pound a week (or slightly more). (:

Hey! I am 5'3, 125 lbs give or take a few and trying to lose 10-15 lbs. My ideal weight is around 112lbs. Since middle of college I have gone up and down about 10 lbs. I want to lose it and keep it off now that I am a year out of college. I have sadly noticed my metabolism isn't what it once was.

I try to exercise every day. I usually go to the gym 5 days a week with 2 days of weight lifting and then 45 mins to an hour of cardio. I also run or ride my bike other days. I recently got a jump rope as well.

I aim for around 1500 calories during the week. I am not as strict on the weekend!

Hi,

Good luck, i wish to lose 10 lbs as well. i am 5,3 currentl;y 133.

Hey

we are so close it's crazy I am 5'6 135lbs hoping to get down to 120. I am eating healthy, working out both Cardio and Weight training 4-5 days a week and trying to tone up.

I would like to try getting up before work to get a workout in....but so far I keep hitting the snooze button. I used to get up in the AM to do my cardio so I know I am capable of it.

I had always been around 120-130 my teen and university life but then after uni I got up to 170lbs..needless to say I took my life back and am now back to my comfortable weight and I am so pumped to lose those last 15lbs!

Thanks for the replies!!

Doedoebird...how many calories a day have you been eating and what has  your exercise plan been to lose the most recent 6 lbs?

hey- i'm pretty new, too, and am trying to get down about 10 lbs.  i'm most comfy at 130-135, and am currently 143 :(  at 5'7" i guess it's not terrible, but i don't like my look in my bathing suit, that's for sure!

so i work out around 5 days a week, throwing in a bit of yoga as well, and am trying to also cut the alcohol (ouch!).  so any suggestions or breakthroughs you have would be great.

good luck to you!

Hi, I'm new to this community and trying to lose 10lbs. I'm 5'4, 120 lbs. I used to be 130 lbs and managed to get down to 120lbs. But now it seems very hard to lose another 10 pounds because i always crave sweets especially chocolates. Does anyone have ideas to control cravings?

Thanks and gud luck with your target.

Good For you!

I am 5'9 144 wanting to get down to 135!

I exercise a lot! I love to run, let keep each other motivated!

Hey there, I'm just about 5'6" and as of now I am at around 130lbs

I was around 143lbs when I started to "Diet" and work out. I am still looking to lose 5-10lbs. I am finding it hard to loose any more as it seems that I have hit some plateau. I also keep flipping from about 130olbs o 135lbs ....

Hey!

I'm 5'10" and weight 138 lbs. I'm looking to loose about 15 pounds and become toned in every part of my body.

I have a real problem with 'eating sprees', where I will wait until late in the day to eat, but when I eventually eat - I have a large amount of food.

My goal is to eat around 1600 calories per day and exercise every day, whether it's going to the gym, working out in my room, etc.

I definantly need some motivation and help from others who have the same goals! :)

Well, it's day 3 (ha ha) and I am thinking of changing my plan of action, with respect to the exercise.

I'm thinking: exercise Monday through Friday, rest on weekends.  I have no problem with a 3 mile walk/jog three days per week, but I am struggling with the weights twice per week.

So I'm considering joining a a pretty serious kickboxing class twice per week.

Do you guys have any experience with kickboxing classes?  I think that would achieve good muscle toning.  I have a friend that does this 4 times per week and she is ripped.

What are all of you doing for exercise?  Taking any days off?

Right now I am working out at the gym about 2-3 times a week for about 2 hours. I do from 30mins to an hour of cardio and the rest of my time is weight lifting, ab work outs and stretching. Some weeks I do more exercise and some weeks a bit less. I've been working out like this for just over 3 months and I do see small results and as stated before I have lots about 10lbs.

I was thinking about getting into Kick boxing. I am looking into that for the winter months when I am less active other then going to the gym

Once this raining weather stops I will start biking to work and I also just starting a Dragon Boat league .... I still feel I have a far ways to go, but I am also very very hard on myself .....

Cheers

I am trying to lose 16 lbs.  I am now at 141 (down from a LONG ago original weight of 146) and want to get down to 125.

so i had quite a busy weekend (ie occasions for quite a bit of drinking) so havnt been hugely sticking to my plan!! i managed to drop about two pounds tho! not feeling the best today tho. not sure if im eating the right combination of foods?

Somehow 4 lbs disappeared in the first week, mostly water weight I'm sure...

Anyhow, I'm feeling lazy about exercise but sticking to the diet pretty well.

Divyaa-

Hi, im new. Im 5'2 133 pounds and my goal is 120 pounds. Your post said you were 130 pounds and you dropped down to 120 pounds. How did you do it?

Currently i am doing Slim in 6 six days a week and eating 1200 calories daily. This last 10 pounds has been so difficult for me!!!

hi...well i workout six days a week. i swim 3 days a week and started going to group classes at 24 hour fitness. These classes are really good for resistance tranning. I don't really like to use weights, but these classes makes resistance traning fun. A tranier at the gym told me that we really need to do weight traning because it builds lean muscles and tones the body. I don't really know if you are using weights in your workout, so i would suggest to use weights. Also, it is very important to keep track of how many calories a day you eat and how much do you burn. Its kinda funny but I use food scale to measure the exact quantity i consume so that really helps to...i know its insane, everyone at my home laughs at me but i don't care, cuz i need to know what exactly i am consuming.

gud luk with your goal...keep motivated!!!
