I'm a new member, first time to online "diets" any advice as to how to get started?

Good Beautiful morning to everyone..I pray you all are well and blessed....I'm Michele, married just celebrated 25 years!...41 y/o female mom to 3 grown out of the nest kiddos (yes started young) *wink* and Nana to 2 awesome little guys..I'mm 5'8" 255...and it says my gowl weight is 148..WOW...I cant get to 250..I dont know where to start...its overwhelming and confusing to me right now...was just wondering if anyone could like kick me in the tail and say "this is how you start"?   ...I would be forever grateful!...

hey michele,

i just started myself after losing 50lbs on a doctor supervised diet.  i am 5'4 and 147 and they tell me my goal weight is 131 (lol) but i'm going in.  just to let you know i go by 3 principles; 1.) log everything you put in your mouth (even those things you do not put on a plate), 2.) drink at least 64-128 ounces of water a day (if you are hungry, drink a bottle of water and wait 20 mins.), and 3.) take a walk with that great husband of yours everyday and talk about all the wonderful things you have to look forward to.  I am an excessive eater and can do alot of harm in just a few minutes time.......best thing to do is forgive myself and move on.  You can start by starting.

Thanks Cottontop, I wasnt always a big girl...I used to be 125 at 5'8" and built like a brick house...LOL...27 years 3 kids and several surgeries later here I am...

My energy level is non exsistant and to top it off in '01 I was diagnosed with fibromyalga..yeeeehooo...so there isnt a day that goes by that if I dont feel like I have the flu and some one has beaten the life out of me I hurt...depression meds do not at all work for me...crap I am not depressed I just hurt durnit!...and oh my oh my...water...that is the hardest thing for me to get in the correct amount...I am a sugar and salt aholic....that why I am where I am ...seems there is no starting for me...dont know how...oh yeah they tell me my goal weight is 140...hahahha..oh heavens Lord help me...heck a doo I just would LOVE to get between 175 and 180

well I started by tossing out the junk in my house (except SO's ....hes an evil eat whatever he wants type...) haha.

I also started making meal plans as much as I could and making shopping lists around them...

That seemed to help :)
