Hey Everyone, I need all the help I can get! I gained 55 lbs during my pregnancy. I was 217lbs & 5'5 when I had my daughter! It's only been 3 weeks and I'm already down 33lbs, but I need to get down to around 140-150 to look healthy and feel comfortable with my self, ANY advice would be well appreciated! I'de also like other moms to share theyre weight loss stories!THANKS!! =)

Hi New Momma. I am as well.

I am 5'5 as well w/ medium build. Never had to much trouble and never had to touch the gym memberships... until... the kids. My first son I too was 210 lbs at his birth. 18 months later and two tri-atholons and 3 times a week in yoga...I got back to 160lbs.

Now here I am 2nd boy later and I have to work even harder at 29 years old to get it off. Here is my trick... keep a constant "self check" where ever you are the most. Mine..Pantry/kitchen. Also, on my desk in the office. I am a very visual person and constantly need to be reminded of my goal. Second, do treat yourself...have a day off. Then the "on" days you work so much harder. Third, do whatever you can to involve your children with eating and in fitness...it's the best. My son, who is 4 now... can't get him away from sports and the outdoors. But find what best works for you. His favorite foods are fruits now. Save the junk food (and trust me, I love me a Wendy Biggie Frie and a Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich any day) on your off day. DON'T BUY IT AT THE GROCERIE. With young kids you are bound to the drive thru and eating out for a break...so save your calories until then. Last, Educate yourself. Read some Dr. Oz, some Jillian (from the biggest loser), a little of everything... education is the only way to change your habbits.

I hope I have been some help. Good Luck!!!

Hey there momma - I just had my son in July as well, and also gained about 55lbs! I started actively watching what I ate at my 6 week postpartum, and 2 weeks later started Tae Bo workouts every other day. This is from me starting (pre-pregnancy) at about 140. I'm now down 15 pounds from my 6 week and 35 from my highest during pregnancy! I would first like to get to 140 again, and then 130 and 120 (if humanly possible!)  I also have an 8 year old daughter, so it will be interesting trying to lose the weight RIGHT after having the baby, instead of waiting 5 years like I did with my daughter! I did manage to get to 120 once, when I was 26/27, but I'm almost 30 now - so I think I would be happy getting to 130 ultimately.

Good luck, you can do it if you want it bad enough and work hard at it. I relish the challenge myself!
