I'm probably one of the next
I figure I'm probably high on the list of posters to be banned. There are several people here that I'd like to keep in touch with should that happen. I sent a couple of PM's to ask for email addresses. I'll get a few more out later.
If any of you are intrerested in having my email address, please PM me while you still can and I'll get it to you.
YOU??
ME!!
*hides*
if you can't find me, you can't ban me
*sprinkles invisibility glitter on self*
I hope not! I usually enjoy your posts.
I usually don't post much in these forums. All these bannings, warnings, and reportings have basically made me consider giving up on the forums on this website. There is waaay too much arbitrary nonsense going on.
do you really think so? I don't think you've posted anything offensive or worthy to be reported.
Then again, I've thought the same about other members who are no longer here.

honked off one of the mods last election night. I made her smoking hot mad. We PM'd for quite some time and I had been drinking so I let her know what I really thought of her. For the next couple of months she jumped down my throat at every chance she could get. It was OK if other posters insulted me or called me names, but I couldn't do anything right.
Then I started butting heads with another mod, one with whom I had a joking relationship. I began to see what that mod was all about and was no longer amused. I was taking this all too seriously and getting too involved. As I look back now it was silly to get so emotionally tied up with an internet site, but I understand why and how I did that, so lessons learned. I left the site for quite some time. I would lurk now and then, but mostly stayed away. I enjoyed this site and the Lounge so I came back.
I believe one of the criteria for getting kicked off is if you make too much work for the mods. Well one of the mods is working very hard at getting rid of posters she doesn't like or agree with. I believe there is another poster egging this mod on.
I'll probably be censored for this thread.
I've been posting here for years and never experienced a problem. After all, it's there in black and white every time you type a message. (See below) The mods can't spend hours agonising over whether someone meant to be offensive or not.... Is it so tough to keep things civil?
Posting Guidelines
Calorie Count's mission is to promote healthy and sustainable weight management. Please help our moderators follow this vision and respect the following guidelines.
- We can only at this time accept postings in English.
- Your post is subject to modification or deletion by our moderators. Repetitive, off-topic, disruptive, and frivolous posts will be removed. We will take down any posts that violate either the letter or the spirit of any of these rules.
- Advertisements, product announcements, and self-promotional posts are prohibited. Links to personal sites, pages, and blogs should be placed on users' profile pages.
- Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited.
- Copyrighted works including newspaper or online articles, web pages, press releases, or book excerpts are not allowed.
- Please avoid threatening other members, making inflammatory comments or posts, or using foul language.
Moonie seeks to create/continue drama. She hopes to paint the mods as terrible people who are incapable of acting professionally around people they don't much care for.
I so agree with you, gi-jane. The guidelines are so easy to follow. Don't be confrontational, insulting, or try to inflame. Unfortunately, some people find it amusing to do just that. I rarely come into The Lounge because of all the nasty posts. The moderators have a tough job. Are they perfect? Of course not! But, I think they try very hard to be fair. Frankly, I wouldn't miss The Lounge if it was gone. I'm here to get assistance with my effort to lose weight. Period. Just MY opinion.
a shout out to the mods!!!!!!!!!! and IGOR!!!! and ERIK!!!!!
omg i dont know how yall put up with us!!!
this place is a veritable daycare...

just wanted to add a clockwise positive spin to this thread.
that is all.
robin, I used to be the same way- when I first joined, I was all over just about every forum BUT this one. After hearing the same thing over and over and over again about bmr, daily cals, bm's, how to do proper squats, etc, etc, I ventured into the Lounge.
The first time I clicked on daily chat, I nearly fell over- I had NO idea there was that kind of community going on. After lots of lurking, I got sucked in joined in a chat.
I love the kinds of topics that are brought up in the lounge. They are as different and varied as each cc member. I don't agree with most of the general consensuses but that's alright- I don't have to.
I find it a shame that some people are very easily offended. That's what creates most of the conflict imo.
I missed your posts while you were away, and was glad to see you come back. CC is definitely a work in progress. Lots of changes over the time I've been here. Interesting stuff and it makes me wonder if some of the others that I've "missed" were asked to leave, or censored into leaving... Just a thought.

^ agreed!!

I agree with some of what you said, qmwillcand. However, I do have to disagree with what you said about some people being easily offended. Personally, I'm not easily offended and can just ignore much of what is said here, but so much of what appears here is extremely and intentionally offensive and confrontational. I have never admired people who intentionally try to instigate controversy. Obviously, this is just my opinion, and it's my choice whether to come into this forum. But, I just think there are other websites better suited to some of the subjects introduced here. Again, just my opinion. ![]()
I've seen you make that comment several times, robin. This is the lounge. It's open to any subject matter. The other areas of the site are dedicated to weightloss, fitness and support.
Lorik and PG leaving is not a conspiracy, Mooni. Just like there is no conspiracy to get rid of you. They may keep an eye out on you, because you have a habit of being confrontational and sometimes insulting, but they are just following guidelines. I have posted here for 3+ years and I have rarely had a problem. Get over yourself.

I was thinking the same thing. It loses its punch the 3rd or 4th time (especially if you have to come into the Lounge to say it).
I remember really liking a lot of Mooni's posts back before she left, and I remember being sad that she left. And I haven't seen a lot except comments of "Oh, the mods hate me" to make me think that she'd be next on the chopping block.
I am not easily offended on this site, but the one memorable time I was, it was at the hands of the recently departed. Muttlover had posted about seeing a therapist, and his response was something to the effect of "if you need to see one (if you can't fix yourself on your own), you are in some way deficient." That was incredibly offensive to me.
But in general, I don't find many "nasty" posts, and when I do, I just leave the thread.
That's right, and you're entitled to voice your opinion, just as I'm entitled to voice mine.
1 <3 u mooni.

same.
The way I see it is it takes 2 to tango and it takes 2 to create drama. One to post something inflammatory and one to react to it.
If everybody who disagreed with a poster's thread/opinion simply didn't post their argument, the thread would fade into oblivion pretty quick.
...unless it didn't, and those of like-minded (disruptive and offensive) opinion rise up unhindered and plan a hostile takeover.

Except my statement about the purpose of the Lounge is fact not opinion.
