u gain around ur TOM so, i would say ur fine wait a few days after its over drink ur water and u will drop the lbs

u think? I put on the weight in te middle of my period- god I could cry rite now

It's usually more common to gain weight immediately before and at the start of your period, but everyone is different!  The average flucuation in weight is around 5-7 pounds over the course of a day, a woman's weight can vary by as much as 10 pounds over the menstrual cycle.

Does 'a proper go' refer to you trying to diet or you trying to get pregnant?  Is your two pound gain the main reason you think you're pregnant?  If you have your period now (and have for the past week) why do you think your pregnant?

I'm not trying to get pregnant. I'm really not at that stage in my life right now. Its the only reason I can think for me not being able to loose weight.

Even if I wasn't watching what I was eating- the increase in gym activity (2/3 times a week) should help a little right?

I'm just feeling so fustrated that all this effort is going to waste.

Excuse the rant- apologies

How long have you been trying to lose weight?  It can be really frustrating when you do daily weigh-ins because of all the natural flucuations our bodies go through.  It's usually recommended to do weekly weigh-ins so you don't have to get bogged down by those slight increases.  If you keep careful track of the number of calories you eat and the number of calories you burn, and you burn more than you take in you will lose weight - I promise!  Hang in there :)

Thank you everyone- You've all been great. I will hang in there cos I want this so bad- like all of us. I have an image in my head as to how I wanna look.

I'm just the kinda person who wants everything done now but I know that can't always be the case.

xx

WOW I FEEL JUST LIKE YOU! Its so funny that you say you're pregnant because I just told my sister I was yesterday because I swear even though I eat a VERY clean diet and work out for 100+ minutes A DAY I still have quite the tummy pooch!

I am so tempted to get a pregnancy test at the store just to rule out that possibility - but what else can it be? Perhaps I am eating too much salt? Chewing too much gum? Eating too much fiber & not eliminating it properly - All of these things have been problems for me in the past (&present)... but who knows - it is annoying though because about 3 weeks ago I was just fine & happy with my body & these thoughts did not take over my brain, but now I can hardly sleep at night thinking about what is causing my tummy to expand!

Since it is that time of the month for you, you probably gained 2 pounds because you're retaining water! Don't worry, when this week is over, I am sure you will lose those 2 pounds and resume to your normal figure! I always give my body a week or so to be "bloated" because I figure it is my PMS week... but I have been feeling mighty pregnant for the past 3 weeks! ha ha - wait, why am I laughing?

Lol I sometimes feel like this. When I was bigger if I overindulged it didn't make much difference but now it shows. Being thinner if I eat a big meal I can see it and if I'm having a thin day and then bloat I feel like a pregnant nicole richie! Haha, not that I'm anywhere near as thin as her or looking that big that people might think I'm pregnant but my belly bulges out in a smooth dome and I can feel my hip bones either side and cos I'm so bloated it seems to pull everything around the belly taut emphasising even more a big belly and making everything else look slimmer.

if you are sexually active and haven't taken any measurements you can be pregnant. if in doubt, have a test; they are not perfect but can give you an idea

if TTOM is lurking around you can be bloated for 2 weeks; between mid-cycle until TOM arrives.
