I'm starving and only have about 300 cals to work with
Please give me some MEAL suggestions to fit 300 cals or fewer. It needs to be filling.
(I plan on drinking a boat load of tea and water tonight also.)
I would go for an egg white omelette (1 cup egg whites = 117 calories) and a giant green salad with a low cal viniagrette (depending on dressing, this could be 75-100 calories). That would leave you with enough cals left to have a serving of air-popped popcorn or one of those 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn.
How about two or three cups of nice roasted vegetables and a palm-sized piece of chicken?
You could also have an enormous salad topped with a can of tuna with a bit of balsamic vinegar dressing.
A serving of oatmeal plus a cup of cottage cheese...
Off the top of my head that's all I can think of :)
Thanks for the quick responses. I think my hunger is clouding my ability to think for myself!
I like Boca Burgers (70cals) with a spray of pam olive oil (9cals logged in as 1 gram) and garlic powder and dill weed. On a Toasted Whole Wheat English Muffin (120 cals). I use Walden Farms Thousand Island dressing which claims to be calorie free. Oh and 2-3 dill pickle slices (3 calories). [[decent amount of fiber and not too bad on protein]] ttl 202 calories
optional red pepper sliced med (37 calories)
And I second the popcorn I do Smart Pop 100 calorie pack every night before bed (110 calories).
Good Luck staying within your calories... if you go over you can always just workout a bit extra.
Soup is always filling and Low Cal. I like minestrone.
small turkey wrap (or 1/2 turkey wrap from subway/jasons deli/etc):
small tortilla
mustard
smoked turkey
lettuce
jalapenos
avocado (1-2tbsp)
a bit of shredded skim cheese
oregano and pepper
yummy for only 75-113 calories!!
300 cals worth of vegetables or salad is a really massive plate, it's what I try and go for if I've planned badly. I have about 3oz of lean meat and work out how much veg i can have based on what I've got left. I've found I can skip salad dressing too if the salad has a few olives cut up really small and some onion in it to give it flavour.
I'd go for veggies, myself. They tend to be satisfying and low cal.
Slice up a whole eggplant, bake it, layer it in a pan with a layer of tomatoes, a layer of fat free ricotta cheese, another layer of eggplant, and some more tomatoes and cheese. I suggest mixing the ricotta with basil and pepper and salt first.
Bake it all again for however long you want.
It's like an eggplant lasagna casserole, and no matter how much you eat, you'll be WELL under the 300 calorie limit. It's HUUUUUGE and nummy and even if you binged on the entire recipe, it's only like 250 calories.
Amy's Foods - There are a bunch under 300 calories and they are delish. You could be having a burrito now
prob not good for you but kraft easy mac is only 230 a packet..
I just made some really good stir-fry type food:
1 cup brocolli
1/2 zuchinni
1/4 pepper
30 medium-sized shrimp
1/4 tsp. sea salt
spices like pepper or oregano or dill... w/e u want
fry with canola or pam
This barely makes 200 cal but its so filling, you can add more veggies and still have enough cal left over for desert!
Well I just started on here.. don't really have any meal to tell you about but I heard that apples suppress hunger so I started eating an apple every morning for breakfast and I don't crave food throughout the day as often.. Plus they are good for your teeth! :)
If you like tuna or salmon try mixing a packet or half a can or so etc. with a light salad or fresh grilled veggies, and maybe toast or something. Any meal I add a serving or so of tuna or fish etc. into keeps me full very well since it is a wonderful source of protein ^^
my favourite thing to eat when I want something sweet, filling and low cal is a bowl of porridge (oatmeal), 1/3 of a cup of raw rolled oats contains around 115 calories, then spoon non fat, low cal yoghurt on top. the yoghurt I use is Yoplait Forme Strawberry (not sure if it's available outside of Australia) which is 67 calories per serve. all up it comes out at 182 calories and it's extremely filling. to make it even more filling grate an apple and add it to the porridge as it's cooking. small apples only have around 55 calories so with the apple that's 237 calories and I guarantee you will have to undo the button on your pants you will feel so full.
