I'm 5'4 200lbs. I use to be 220-225 last month but since last month i've been taking these "methyl ripped diet pills", drastically lowered my calorie count (watching what i eat too) and I do 40 min on the treadmill in the morning and another 40 at night. The weird thing is I did not drink a lot of water at the time. I am however also taking multi-vitamens and omega-3 fish oil pills.
However, I am stuck at my current weight.
I can't seem to lose any more weight. Just a few days ago I started to force myself to drown myself in water. I drink about 3-4 litres a day now (holy crap have to piss every 15 min). My hope is maybe I can drown out all that stored water in my body. I also am taking protien shakes. Once after my first workout just to repair my muscles cause I've been averaging about 5-6km a day on the treadmill. I don't usually want to drink them but they help me a lot in repairing the muscles in my leg because I run/walk so much on a daily basis.
The thing is I haven't been going out very much because I've been so concentrated on what I eat and exercice. I usually just do my morning workout, hang around the house while drowning myself in water, do my 2nd workout and then sleep. I don't eat very much anymore. Everytime I work out my shirt is always DRENCHED with sweat. It's also weird how my weight fluctuates. One day the scales says im 195 and then the next it says im 200 again.
I don't understand why I am not losing wieght fast enough (if not any anymore). Am I doing something wrong? One month of taking constant pills and working out and no one has even commented anything to me. I feel healthier but I don't really look it. My gut is still huge. MY upper body looks pretty toned but my bottom half of my stomache and is still saggy and big.
It's so damn frustrating I almost feel like I want to give up. I just don't understand why I can't drop the weight. Maybe it's because I've just recently drinking crazy amounts of water it's just water weight? Help me PLEASE. What am I doing wrong?

It's unnecessary to "drown yourself" with water. All you need to do is increase your water intake by a few glasses a day. Maybe you need to eat more. Or try interval training.
eat more to increase weight loss? really?
How drastically did you lower your caloric intake?
Really - eat more to lose weight! :) I've lost 23lbs as of today since April 12 2007 and I eat more and more often now than I did this time last year.
Also - what's with the diet pills? are you trying to get "ripped" muscle wise? or do you think this is really helping?
I say, save your money, return whats left of the pills and just eat right and workout. That's what I've done. No pills. Just my weight smart one a days (multi-vitamin), eating right and working out.
Good luck!

First, stop taking those pills.
Second, use the tools here to caluclate your allowance and expenditures.
Third, count calories diligently.
Fourth, increase aerobic exercise.

Well on an average day I will take one protien shake (150cal) plus maybe another 150cal meal or something at night. I only drink water now nothing else.
Those menthyl ripped diet pills are fat burners but I mostly use them for hunger suppression and raising my heart rate for when I go on the treadmill. I always wondered though if the reason I don't see much results is because its focussing on building muscles rather than burning fat. Also, I find it more motivating using the pills to give me that boost to want to run everyday. 40min 2ce a day for a month can get boring mentally sometimes.
It is amazing how much I sweat though when I take those pills.

Please eat more!! 300 calories a day is NOT ok and may help you lose quick weight, but believe me you can't sustain it and it is NOT healthy!! Don't start down this road, where you end up will not be where you wanted to...
You do realize that with all diet pills, they recommend that you eat right, and exercise... right? All of of them say that. These type of pills are making you feel like you're losing, because you feel like you have to eat less. All I am trying to say is it's all in your head. The diet pill industry is a multi billion dollar success. But we rarely succeed on losing the weight.Trust me I've been down this road before. Well you may have the exercise part down, but what you're burning is too much, so the body has nothing to go on. You do need to eat more. Use the allowance tool to help guide you. Please eat more atleast in your calorie range. You will lose. Like the others here, I too am losing by eating more in my calorie range. I'm already down 23 lbs! I really hate to tell you this but you'll end up gaining back what you lose and then some more. Think it over, and take care!
Well you can't lose weight healthily only eating 300 calories. Women need 1200, men need 1500 JUST FOR THEIR BODIES TO FUNCTION. No joke, your body needs calories to work.
We get flooded with posts from people "stuck" "stalled" and "plateaued". 95% of them arn't eating enough. Once they do, they start losing again.
You are starving yourself. Please eat 1200 (if you're a woman) 1500 (if you're a man). If you are active/working out, you will need to eat 1200/1500 PLUS what you burn working out to lose weight safely, what you are doing now is destroying your body and is very unhealthy.
When you don't eat enough for your heart to beat, breath, brain to think, your body uses your muscle and organs to feed itself, NOT FAT. When you get into the final stages of starvation, your body finally drops the fat, then you die. Your body will also hold on to everything you eat as fat, it has no idea that you're dieting, not starving to death.
Did you know that you're consuming FEWER calories than those poor people were given in the consentration camps, do THEY look good to you?
You can't just eat 300 calories a day until you drop your weight and think "I'll eat better then". This type of "diet" teaches you nothing. Most people who "diet" this way gain all they lost back, and then some, because each time you do it, you lose more and more muscle, until your metabolism sucks and you're left with a high body fat percentage.
A diet is something you are suppose to be able to exist off of healthily for the rest of your life.
Where are the fruits, whole grains, vegetables in your diet? How does this seem good to you? You can't get these things from a diet drink and a bar. Goodness.
I'm sorry if I come off as harsh, this is just very serious.
In this case, less isn't more

It's a biological fact that if you do not eat enough calories your body goes into "starvation mode" and you will not lose weight.
This is because throughout human history, there were often periods of famine. If our bodies did not function differently when people are in 'extreme low calorie' (famine) mode, then most if not all of the human race would have died out long ago. This is a biological safety device that has kept us alive. Your metabolism shuts down.
If you put your body into famine mode (which, with your activity level, is going to be well over 1200 calories a day), not only are you *not* going to lose weight like you want to, you are going to *gain* when you start eating normally again.
To get your body to think it's 'safe' to *burn* calories...you have to eat. Frequently. But they need to be small amounts and stuff like fruits, fresh veggies and lean meats (enough lean protein is as important as low cal and fruits to get your body to burn calories).
Here's what's worked for me: I get up in the morning and immediately eat a serving of grapes or a nectarine or something. That healthy natural 'fruit sugars' get my body woke up and in 'calorie burning' mode. (I used to fast all day until mid afternoon...I *gained* weight doing this).
After I go on my 1/2 hour walk, I eat and apple along with a serving of peanut butter (per my nutritionist, the peanut butter is a protein source). Then, literally every hour or two, (depending on what my body is telling me it needs - I am learning to listen to it), I eat a piece of fruit or some sort of protein source...like a boiled egg or slice of lean turkey. For lunch I will eat a small lean turkey sandwich. What this does is keep my body in "not quite hungry but definitely not full" mode. It's pretty comfortable, actually.
I've learned this is a very delicate balance thought because if I don't eat often enough I become ravenous and eat way too much.
For me, one of the main things that made me overweight in addition to drinking too much pop and eating too much fast food, was not listening to my body when it told me I was hungry as well as full.
Too often overweight people who feel guilty about eating will try to deny their bodies food for too long when their body is saying "I need fuel." This is incredibly counter productive.
Since you have an account on this site, if you fill in all your account info like age, height, weight and activity level, it will tell you what *your* recommended daily calorie intake is for (reasonable, slow, steady) weight loss. I can tell you it will surprise you how many calories that is. Eat fruit or fresh veggies and lean protein every couple of hours, write down and track your calorie level as you go along, do a reasonable amount of exercise, and you will lose weight. You might even be surprised how much you will eat and how quickly the pounds come off.

I think the reasons you aren't losing weight are as follows:
1) you are not eating enough food. Men should consume a MINIMUM of 1500 calories per day and Women should consume no less than 1200 calories per day. These are needed for your basic bodily functions. Please use the expenditure (set at sedentary level) tool and allowance tools (at same level) to calculate what you burn in a 24 hour period of doing nothing, and what you should consume to get to your goal weight by a goal date.
2) you're relying on basically an expesive placebo pill to do what you should be able to learn to do on your own. Control your hunger/appetite and learn what your body is telling you. If, on 300 calories a day only you feel you must use a pill to suppress your appetite - you're basically muffling your body's voice screaming I"M STARVING - FEED ME! - your body will not lose weight on only 300 cals/day.
3) If your workout seems boring to you - change it up. I've spent 2 months now, 30 min a day MINIMUM on my exercise bike, but I keep my mind off what my body is doing as I have my bike parked in front of my TV - I plug in a movie of choice, put on the cordless headphones and litterally go to town. I peddle an average of 19 mph and manage to go 10 miles in a 30 min period. :)
I do hope you take our advice to heart.
Good luck! ;)
