I'm stuck for 2 weeks....Help....

Quote  |  Reply

Hello everybody, I need your help.

Well, I started CC with a lot of joy, three weeks ago.

I got my colories numbers, that was 1650. At the first week I lost 1 kilo(2 pounds) and I was thrilled about it. I eat at the most 1200 calories a day, I walk a lot, burning 200-300 calories every couple of days.

After that first push, and for the last two weeks I lost nothing. I'm stuck on the weight I was with at the end of the first week.

Do you have any ideas? Hepl me please, before I binge myself in, out ot anger, dissapointement or everything else....

Thank youSmile

If it was recommended you eat 1650.... eat 1650.  What happens if you crash diet (eat too little) is exactly what you describe i.e. lose weight for a week or two but then hit a 'stall'.  It's very frustrating but sadly, quite a common mistake.   From now on make sure you get the full 1650 every day and try to be active every day rather than every couple of days.  Other things that could help you

  • Choose good quality wholefoods and base all your meals around vegetables
  • Keep your sodium intake below 2400mg per day by avoiding ready-made foods, eating out and too many packaged/processed foods.
  • Eat regularly and eat even-sized meals.... don't skip meals
  • Drink plenty of fluids... ideally water... 1 or 2 litres a day, more if you're very active or if you live/work in a hot climate
  • Measure portions accurately... use scales rather than guessing.  'Overeating' is a very common reason for failure to lose weight

Good luck

Thank you very much for your advise. Actually, I have a very good diet, use alot of vegetables, never skip a meal, etc.

I guess, (i was thinking abou it)that the fact of me not taking all the recommended calories might be the reason for my problem. To tell you the truth, that is the first time I eat that regular, and so much. I rarely eat ready-made food because I love to cook.

Thank you once more.....Smile

That's great... If you eat regularly and you eat good quality foods you've got all the basics in place.  Just don't put your body under stress by undereating and you should find you're more successful as a result.  As you lose weight you may find you need to eat a little less and exercise a little more in order to keep losing.... pays not to start to low.

As a 'boost', have a day soon where you get your full energy needs.  In your case that'll be about 2300 cals.  Then resume on 1650 average by keeping within a 1550-1750 spread.  It's easy to get the extra calories if you remember to include a few nore energy-dense, healthy foods in your menu e.g. avocado, olive oil, nuts, dried fruit... and increase portion-sizes just a little all round.

I will do just that!!1The "boost" think I mean...thank you SmileKiss

Thank you for posting this. The same thing happened to me. I lost one kilo after the first week and have been stuck for over three weeks. For the last 10 days, I have been going down and up by half a kilo, but not quite managing to hold that loss.

Don't give up! That's the most important thing. I am sure that we will both start losing again at some point. I do not care when I lose those kilos as long as I do lose them at some point. Of course it is much nicer to see a steady weight loss, but if my body does not want to do that then I'll give it time to understand that the extra weight is going off, no matter what!

I am going to try the boost as well next weekend. Thank you both again.

Of course we don't stop!!!CoolWe carry one, and as you say, some time our body will understand that we don't play games!!!!Laughing

That's exactly the point of my earlier failure.....everytime I was starting on a diet, after some weeks, a few actually, I was frustated and then stopped..since I didn't lose..

But this time with the hepl of CC, I'm not willing to give it up!!

Together we win!!!!Laughing

Be in touch, to celebrate our scales to go downnn!!!

The same thing happened to me one week... even though I was working so hard and staying within my calorie limit, I didn't lose at all on the scale... luckily I have been taking my measurements weekly and I had actually lost a couple of inches.... it kept me motivated knowing that I was at least toning my body even if I wasn't dropping pounds... maybe something to try!  Keep up your hard work!!
