For the past week or so, I've been really tired throughout the day. It's been harder to work out with such a low energy level. I eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water. I eat about 1400 calories a day.
Any suggestions about what to eat? I just started taking a multivitamin in the morning so maybe that will help. My mom also suggested I may need to take in more iron.
Maybe you're missing vitamins B1 and 2 in your diet. Maybe you could increase the amount green leafy veggies in your diet?
Are you exercising a lot? What are your stats? It could be that you need to increase your calorie intake due to the amount you're burning while exercising.
Fatigue can be caused by many things - lack of sleep, illness, anaemia, malnutrition, stress - and if it continues you should talk to your doctor.
Diet/nutrition is important. 1400 cals isn't very much food and, unless you're really conscientious about getting the best nutritional 'bang for your buck', you can quickly become malnourished. (You mention living with parents and if you're under 21 you should be getting 1500 cals as a bare minimum) Low iron stores are very common in young women and you don't have to be clinically anaemic to start to suffer. A multivitamin with iron is a good safety-net but it's even better to get your iron from real foods.... red meats, whole eggs, pulses (legumes), dark green vegetables... washed down with plenty of vitamin C.
As an experiment, try maintaining your weight for a week. Typically an adult female over 21 can maintain a healthy weight on 1900-2100 cals a day. A teenager is more like 2000 -2300. If you stop feeling tired then you'll know you've not been getting enough to eat.

Suggestion strongly seconded.
Before you change your diet or take more vitamins...anyone out of the blue can not recommend anything to you without more vital info; like your current age, health status etc. So all I can is suggest something you might have over looked.
You seem to be a very young person and still at home. So I would assume there is nothing wrong with your diet or exercise routine.
But what could be missing here, is a colon, kidney and liver cleanse. I am finding many people should give some thought to these cleanses. So research them and find out as much as you can about them. When I do a cleanse I check my blood pressure on a daily basis, keep a diary and drink a lot of distilled water. With in days I sleep better, have more energy and stamina. And best of all I do not gain weight back that I have lost while dieting.
There are many other things that can be suggested but without more info this is all for now.
Good luck.
When I first started watching my calories and working out, I was having the same problem. I played a little with my calories and found that just by adding 100 calories a day, I felt sooo much better. All of my recomendations tell me to eat 1200 calories a day, but I have much more energy when I eat 1300. I also listen to my body and days when I have strenuous workouts, I allow myself up to 1600 calories if I feel like I need it.
I have to second what gi-jane said though. I'm not sure how old you are, but you seem to be below 21, in which case you should be eating a MINIMUM of 1500 calories.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
