I'm so upset with myself right now
Ok, so I wasn't too sure where to go for this, so i decide to vent a little bit here. I know that I'm a stress eater. Whenever I'm stressed about something I have to eat. I have my own place now, and my boyfriend does not eat junk food at all. So I decided to live his lifestyle and we do not keep it in the house. Well yesterday I did horrible on a test, and my mom brought over a whole sub for my boyfriend and I to share. So I had half of that, plus a small bag of chips.
So ok not too bad right? NO! My mom also bought me some girl scout cookies!! This is when my nightmare begins. I ate soo many cookies, and got a serious stomach ache. Considering I hardly eat sweets anymore, and now at 4 am I still have a stomach ache and feel guilty as hell. I'm throwing out the cookies, I do not want them at all and I wish I never ate them. My mom is horrible when it comes to food. She just wants me to be full, and thus my problem since grade school. The gym opens at 5 am, and intend on burning off all of the cookies and more. I just hate being this way.
Don't let it get to you too much. Everyone has an off day and I mean come on....who can resist Girl Scout cookies?!? Definitely not me!
Just recommit to your healthy diet tomorrow and the next time she brings over some goodies take enough to satisfy your craving at the time and then send your mom back home with the rest!
I can relate - girl scout cookies get me every year. ![]()
Start fresh tomorrow, dont beat yourself up.
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. I just came back from the gym and you're right I shouldn't beat myself up over it. Thank you so much ![]()
ah, the girl scout cookie syndrome.... I had bought 4 boxes from this adorable little girl with the total intention of giving two to my dad and one for my fiance and the other to share... I am sure you can see where this is going lol...
Well, I ate half a box of the caramel delights before my fiance even got home and the other half before I went to bed... then the next day snacked on his until he yelled at me for eating his gift! lol... I COULDN'T HELP IT!!! those cookies are like crack to a crack addict. I even dipped into one of the boxes for my dad... I totally understand, I was furious with myself and somewhat embarrassed.
The only way to reconcile with myself was to give myself permission to enjoy these cookies for the sole fact they are available one time a year and to make a promise to only buy one box next time! for my dad lol... and to step up the exercise. At least the boyscouts offer light popcorn.
One bad day doesn't undo all your hard work and there will be days when things don't go to plan, don't beat yourself up about it otherwise you will just get stressed about it and end up going downhill. We all have naughty days, its just about limiting them and having 10 times more good days than naughty ones :)
You eat the cookies because it's there, and the fact that you can only get it once a year.
Here's a recipe for HOMEMADE caramel delights, aka "Samoas". This way, you won't have it in your house unless you decide to make them. And when you do make them, you can make them in super small batches so you aren't tempted to eat more than you prepared for. :)

That same sight also has links to the other girl scout cookies, all home made recipes. I haven't tried them yet, but they look pretty darn similar to me. Hopefully they taste just as similar. Then I'll be in heaven! :)

Have you informed your mom that you are trying to eat healthier? You don't have to say that you are trying to lose weight, but you can tell her that you are trying to lay off the sweets. Suggest that if your mom wants to bring you sweet treats, tell her that you would enjoy some fresh fruit instead. :)
I completely understand you struggle. I am a stress eater and I tend to get out of control myself. Remember that tomorrow is a new day and there are not mistakes in it. ![]()
You had cookies left to throw out! Thats a good thing, right? Plus, you are probably making progress on your healthy lifestyle because eating all those extra cookies had a bad effect on you (stomach ache.) That goes to show you that you are becoming more healthy! So look on the bright side, get rid of the left over cookies, or stick em in the freezer for a planned indulgence. Good luck to you!
I heard that the Girl Scouts reduced the number of servings in a box in order to save on costs versus raising the price. So the good news is you didn't eat as many cookies as you would have if you ate almost a whole box a year ago.
