I'm in work, and so far today  I've eaten a yoghurt and about 3 cups of tea with low fat milk. It's time for a snack but I don't know what to do. I'm just beginning my diet and jumpstarting by doing a mini detox. I know an apple won't fill me up and I'll binge on biscuits but I don't want to resort to carbs. A sandwich is out of the question because the only ones available to me at this time are pre-made with tonnes of mayo and butter. Help! What's a healthy, detox-friendly option to keep my energy levels steady and fill me up?

Why are you going through a detox?  If you deprive yourself you will end up bingeing.

An any piece of fruit will give you the energy and fibre you need to pull you through until supper time.
BTW fruit and veggies are also carbs... not just bread... bananas help fill me up when I'm hungry.
Carbs are ok as long as they are good carbs from fruit, veggies and whole grains. An apple may not fill you up completely, but it will at least satisfy you until you are able to have dinner. Plus it's good for you :) Drinking lots of water along with your snack will help curb your appetite also.

What are you detoxing your body from?
I'm trying to cut out processed foods and alcohol. It's just I came to work unprepared today. The store is so scary! I'm scared to go without a plan in case I buy chocolate! A yoghurt and an apple methinks.
Ahhh not a bad idea. :)

An apple and yogurt sounds like a great snack....makes me want some!

Good thing lunch is only 45 minutes away :P
Don't go to the store hungry.

Even if I have a plan, if I am hungry when I go, it's really hard to stick to the plan.

Apple and yogurt is a great snack!  :-)
Agreed; fruit and yogurt is a great snack!  Combined they give you simple carbs, fiber, and protein.  Remember, you're just trying to get a bit of energy before you next full meal.  Dolceamara's suggestion of water is spot-on as well!

May I ask why you're avoiding carbs?  Good complex carbs (e.g. whole grain foods) can provide you with a longer lasting source of energy than the sugars in milk and fruit.  Breakfast is a great time for complex carbs (I usually have whole-grain cereal or oatmeal), since our energy reserves are low in the morning after having fasted during sleep.
