i remember reading a website about dieting. i cant find the site anymore but there was something i wasn't too sure if i was remembering correctly.
it said we shouldnt drink water 30 minutes before or after a meal. if we can do that, our metabolism will break down the food more easily and we will have better digestion. i THINK thats what i read.
can anyone give me more info about this?

it will also fill you up a little before the meal to prevent you to overeat most likely
i was wondering if i could drink during meals too. cuz if i could, that would also prevent me from overreating.
I've read that, if you don't have trouble getting calories in for the day, then you can drink water anytime you want. If you're having trouble getting all of your calories you should avoid drinking with meals because it does fill your stomach.
I have heard that you shouldn't drink water with meals before because it gets in the way of digestion...but that doesn't seem right to me...
I'm trying to find the link to see the reasoning behind that, but the thing is, is I heard that from one fitness advisor, then heard it's not true from another =/
I think you can really drink water whenever you want to...I don't think there is a certain time to drink it that will speed weight loss, just as long as you're drinking enough of it you should be good =D
I'll keep looking for that link though

If you have no stomach ailments which dilute your stomach acid, you can drink during meals; it is an urban myth that drinking while eating will somehow upset the digestive process by diluting the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. You need water to digest food so eat, drink and be merry.
Also, it is a myth that drinking water before a meal will somehow fill you up and make you eat less. Water satisfies thirst, not hunger. If you want to fill up before a meal, drink broth as it has been shown that people who have soup before a meal eat less than those who don't.
Also if you live in an area that is very dry, semi dessert like areas, you should drink water with your meals as well as between meals. This prevents dehydration and helps digestion. I just learned about this this week.
