I want to be as healthy as I can be. Honestly, if I hadn't of started CC I know that the scale would have kept creeping up & I knew I couldn't let that happen . I didn't want to be older and have to be put on medications or have to be worried about something medically going wrong with me. I'm a pretty healthy person--I've had all sorts of test it's just my weight...I also don't like going up a flight of stairs and being out of breath. I just really really want to be healthy....

Not to feel trapped in my own body anymore! I used to be light and nimble, then an underactive thyroid helped me add 60 pounds to my normal weight in about 10 years. When I decided that my age had nothing to do with it (as loads of people, including DOCTORS had told me), I decided to come out of bondage. LOL

Plus, I have kept my favorite elegant outfits from my slim time and have made a schedule when I'll be able to wear this one, then that one... I'll finally be able to wear clothes I love rather than clothes that fit!!! Can't wait!!!

To be healthy and grow with my children, instead of looking at them from the coach, why should they have all the fun!!!To be able to play with my kids and not get winded! A life long dream of surfing, I know I could do it if I try, but all the bulges and thunder thighs have kept me out of the water. I also want to row, skulling, that's always been a dream of mine, afraid I might sink the boat. To put a bathing suit on and not be embarrassed because I'm wearing a suit my grandma wouldn't even wear.
I am out of clothes now, and becasue I am a stay at home mom now, I dont have any money to buy new ones!!..  :)
I just want to be healthy in my older age, and not have to worry about high blood pressure, or diabetes!
Mines just vanity. Ive always been healthy at 140lbs 5'7 and have always felt 10-15lbs heavier than i wan tot be and miserable. Tried to lose weight many times but only now have i realy focused on this, dieting very firmly and excerising daily. Down to 133.8, only 8lbs left. I also want to build muscle and tone up a lot, rather than just being slim. Basically i want to go from average to hot! i knwo youa re all going to think thats self absorbed, but why not be the best me i can be!

I'm only 20 years old and my doctor said that my weight is starting to affect my blood pressure.  I also recently found out that my grandmother and mother are borderline diabetic.  I don't want to be 20, taking blood pressure medicine and possibly have diabetes when I'm 30 or 40.  So I decided why wait till I was neck deep in health problems to try to get healthy.

I have a few reasons, and here they are:

-I'm sick of being the "fat one"
-I want to wear anything I want to wear instead of things that cover up my fat bits.
-I want people to look at me and my boyfriend and think we make a good couple, instead of looking at us and saying "Why's he going out with her?"
-The satisfaction of seeing the numbers go down is amazing.
-I want people to look at me and go "wow".
-I'm not lying here, I like the attention and recognition from others. It's brilliant when people go "wow, you're looking really thin".
-I want perfection, I want to be as perfect as I can be.

There's more like but yeah, you get the idea. Smile

My wife motivates me every time I lose 5 lbs!!!! with sexual favors, it has gone a LONG way to motivate me. ;)

1. feeling better about myself

2. Cuuuute clothes

3. going on a trip! (to see a boy *wiggles eyebrows*)

1. So I can finally buy my 2-year-old son that shirt that says, "If you think I'm cute, you should see my mom."

2. Getting a date.

3. Shopping in all those "skinny girl" stores that I've never been able to shop in.

 4. To be healthier and feel better. (Physically and mentally.)

Ha, I bought that shirt for my son. lol...

The answer to the topic is easy... the little guy in my picture. He isn't proud now and he doesn't understand what i've done but some day he'll understand what I have done and I hope he appreciates it and is happy about it.

There are a ton of other reasons too for me, my wife, and so on. But the idea of my son growing up without his dad because I didn't take care of myself was to hard to fathom.

1. better health and longevity (my brother had a heart attack at 31)

2. no more obesity discomforts (GERD, gas, ankle/foot pain, etc)

3. aesthetics - to look better for my wife, to be a dad my kids won't be embarrassed of

4. better sense of well-being.  I just feel better all around when I'm eating right.  I feel sad and low when I'm in a period of eating a lot of junk.

1. To be healthier

2. To be able to be in my children's lives not just a part of

3. To set an example for my children so that they may not have to deal with this, or as much, when they are older. Breaking the trend....my daughter is overweight.......I'm overweight......my mom is overweight....her parents were overweight..........their parents were NOT overweight.... So, can't be all genetics, has to be habit too.

4. To be able to go to the doctor because something is wrong and it not automatically be caused b/c I am overweight. (Chubby people do have other problems not caused by weight, but doctors don't see that)

5. To feel better about myself

6. To be able to do all the things my husband and I enjoy doing but usually don't do because I am unable. Outdoor activities.

7. When I was pregnant with my first child at age 19, the doctor said you MUST lose weight or you are gonna end up in a wheelchair and on oxygen by the time you are 30. At 19, I was like......30 is foreverrrrrrrrrr away.........I'll be okay. Well, 30 is only a few years away and I haven't made no changes........it's time.

8. To look good when I go to the Bahamas for my anniversary and not be afraid to wear a swimsuit.

9. To knock the socks off my past classmates at my reunion(not gonna happen at the 10 yr reunion, maybe 15 or 20 yr)

10. To make 2 certain cousins jealous( There was 3 of us, all girls, the same age, the other two were always prettier, smarter, skinnier, etc than me--although only one of us has yet to graduate high school or college, not be married divorced multiple times BEFORE age 20, among other things-- I'm not trying to offend those who have been divorced more than once, but you just have to know the situation.)

I started here almost 2 years ago and lost some weight and then gain some back. Now I'm back on board with my husband. We both want to loose the extra pounds so that when we start our family (in a couple year) that our kids will never see us like this and so that we can set a good example for our kids :)

I decided I was tired of bulges and clothes not fitting how I want, I'm 22 and this is the time of my life to look my best, then hopefully learn to lead a better lifestyle since this gets harder as you get older...

I hear you! This is exactly it. Plus, I hate just knowing that with a little effort I could be better, that I'm not at my full potential. Plus, weighing less and getting fitter makes me feel a lot better both physically and mentally.

We're actually really similar. I'm 20 and the last time I went to the doctor, he told me that my blood pressure was extremely high for my age. Diabetes runs in both sides of my family so I have an extreme risk of getting diabetes. I don't want to risk my health and well-being. I want to live a healthy life and raise my children to live the same way. I also want to fit in smaller, more fashionable clothes, be able to shop almost anywhere, and raise my self-confidence.

hm... im 21 and ive always been kinda chubby/fat/whatever you want to call it. i want to be able to fit into smaller sized clothing and quit having people comment on my weight, like my family and friends.
i hate hearing people say you'd be prettier if you lost some weight. or what!? you wear a size 7 pants!? plus im kinda short and my grandma told me that asians are healthier if they are below the bmi, but i wonder if she really knows what bmi is... lol.

Can I just add how sad I am that xwewhisper, who is at a healthy weight (and is also stunningly gorgeous), is a plus size model. She is not even remotely plus size, but that's the way the modeling world works. Sigh.

I think she should be able to be a regular model right now, at her healthy, womanly weight (but the agencies wouldn't agree with me). I would definitely buy a magazine with her on the cover! It's a terrible reflection on our society that she may have to become underweight (or close to it), and try to get back to her weight from when she was 14 years old, in order to work as a "straight" model!!

Why thank you.  Hopefully the world of modeling will agree with that someday.  I agree with you by the way, it's silly that someone who's a size 12 is concidered a plus model.  But oh well.
