Should we be worried about inches, or kilos?

Like all the women in my family, I have a wonderful example of a 'boy figure' - basically I'm the same width from my shoulders all the way down, with only the slightest indent suggesting a waist. This puts my waist at 28  inches, even though I have a flat stomach? Even when at bmi 14 (I'm 20.5 now, don't worry!) it never got any smaller then 26"). Is it something that changes, when you get your period or something (nearly 15 and it hasn't happened yet.

It just bugs me, because it means I still look wide from the front and it undermines any 'yay my stomach's gone down' feelings. Is there anything you can do to change it?

I have that sort of figure. Really, there's not much you can do for it if that is your body shape and bone structure. I also long for some curvy hips and definition, alas. |:

You could try some resistance workouts to build on muscle tone and definition, given you are of a perfectly healthy weight range per your BMI. But even then, particularly if it's in your family genetics, I'd learn to love your figure as it is made. :]

thigns might change ocne you hit full puberty.  look at the women on both sides of your family--it'll be an indicator as to what kinda of body shapes are possible for u

I'm 17 with bmi of 19 and same deal!

if the curves ever come, fabulous, but hey in the mean time check out cameron diaz's no-waist figure and it makes you feel much better about your lack of beyonce-ne
