Inconsistency between the Daily Eat Meter and the Calorie Target Tool
While I have noticed the Daily Burn Meter amounts have slowly lowered as I've lost weight (while maintaining the same activity level), the Eat Meter has stayed constant.
I punched in the same data on the Calorie Target Tool, which auto-inherits your current weight, but imports the same other details (height, age, gender, activity level, etc.) from your account settings.
Lo and behold, I get "you should be consuming 1800 calories to achieve your goal weight" (paraphrasing here), instead of the 2000 that the Eat Meter still says.
Which is more accurate? I notice the CTT doesn't have a frame size calculation and the account setting do.
Funnily enough, after I had lost 15 pounds, I just felt that I was fairly full on 1800 a day, and my weight loss stayed at an average of 1.6 pounds/week.
I realize I only need to create a maximum of a 500 calorie/day deficit, without going below 1500 calories.
So should the CTT be importing updated information into the Account Settings?
Thanks.
D'oh!
The calorie set box was sitting right there, but I didn't remember having taken the advice and then entering it, almost 3 months ago. Thanks!
It *would* be nice if it did auto-adjust as the Burn Meter does, when your weight comes down (or goes up in the case of someone trying to gain weight). You'd not have to track it regularly from the CTT.
Another nice improvement would be an auto-tracking between the Burn Meter and the Eat Meter, so if you added a real extra dose of exercise on a given day, say, a 3-hour bike ride, it would automatically bump the Eat Meter higher, so you'd know without additional calculation how much more to eat to keep with a 500 calorie deficit.
I know it sounds silly right now, but once I'm at my target weight, I'll want to make sure I don't under eat when I'm having a big workout day.
What good ideas! I think you should click on the "Tell us what you think' link, up in the right side of your screen, and tell the administration directly. They do keep track of suggestions.
I have no idea if any of what you suggest is doable, from a programing standpoint, but it doesn't hurt to tell them.
