Should I increase my calorie intake?
Hi I was wondering if I should eat more than I currently am because of all the people saying that they are eating (more or less) around 1400 - 1800 calories a day. Thus far I have managedabout 1000 as my highest and 437 as my lowest. When I do this though I dont feel hungry and it feels right though. PLease guys help me out.

Radiohero,
are you losing weight by doing this? initially you may but over time the weight loss will decrease because the body is going to go in starvation mode and the metabolism will slow down. you should never restrict you calories lower then 1200 calories for women and 1500 calories for men. you definetly should be eating more. restricting calories severely for a long period of time could cause health problems, especially if you are a women. So fiqure out your BMR or the aim for a healthy weight loss of 1-2 lbs a week for women and 2-3 lbs a week for men. in order to loss a 1lb a week, substract 500 calories from your daily BMR and to loss 2 lbs a week substract 1000 calories.
3500 calories=1 lb
500 calories x 7 days a week= 3500 calories
1000 calories x 7 days a week=7000 calories.
hope this helps.
I agree with mrsrd35. You are not even coming close to eating enough. Hungry or not, you need to eat!!!![]()
Yes, you really should up your calorie intake. Right now you aren't even eating enough for a person in a coma to sustain their bodily functions.
You just said in another thread that you were eating like a bird and exercising and craving fast food.
So how can you say "it feels right" and that you don't feel hungry?!?
The reason you are craving fast food (fat, and carbs) is that you aren't eating enough even for a bird.
I'm thinking you have some real issues with food if you can say in one post that you are not hungry and in onother that you are craving food. Something doesn't match here.
Just went back and checked. The craving post was from a couple of days ago... but my reasoning still stands. You will crave ANY food if you are only getting 400-1000 cals per day.
I know "eating like a bird" is supposed to mean one is eating light and sparingly BUT technically birds must eat at least HALF of their own body weight each day. Technically, you are eating nothing like a bird.

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
