Should I increase my calorie intake for maintenance?
Asked by anonymous on Dec 28, 2008 in Weight Maintenance

I reached my goal weight, and so should I increase my calorie intake?  How?

Answer

You will need more calories to prevent further weight loss.  Each individual requires a specific number of calories to maintain a given weight.  For instance, a female of your age and activity level needs 1900 to 2200 calories a day to maintain 132 lbs depending on activity level.  To find your calorie requirements for maintenance, go to the Calorie Target calculator in the Tools section, and enter your current weight as your goal weight and today’s date as the goal date.
