How can I increase my metabolism???
Im stuck, I lost 17 pounds in 3 weeks [175 lb to 158 lb] and I want to increase my metabolism in order to keep losing. What should I do? what should I eat??? Help!! im 19. 5'6" and size 9.
How about eating a reasonable amount, not 500-800. that might work.
I've read strength training increases the metabolism
Eating breakfast, lunch, dinner (and snacks if you're not getting the cals) boosts your metabolism. Working out and getting your heart pumping increases your metabolism too.
BTW, if you're only eating that little cals, pump it up to 1500...or you'll die.
Weight train and make sure you eat enough to keep your metabolism stimulated. If you don't get enough calories, your body cannot function efficiently and will thus slow down and hold on to fat and calories in order to keep going.
Many people find it very difficult to get past the idea of eating more in order to lose weight (sounds counterproductive), but that's what needs to be done. Good luck!
You will increase your metabolism by not starving yourself.
Teenagers need to consume NO FEWER than 1500+ calories a day.
Break your consumption of the minimum 1500 cals into several meals to increase your metabolism. NEVER skip a meal. A starvation diet cannot be sustained and is not only unhealthy for now but is dangerous long-term.
However, I want to let you know Calorie Count is all about HEALTHY and SUSTAINABLE weight loss or weight maintenance. What you have been posting about, losing 17 lbs in such a short time is against the spirit and mission of Calorie Count. We recommend for full grown adults to lose no more than 1-2 lbs per week, normally 1-2% per week. This is maximum healthy weight loss.
