Will increasing my calories make me gain weight!?

Hi, my goal is to eat about 2000 calories a day. I am a teen and am pretty active, either volleyball 4 times a week for 1 1/2 hours, or weights or eliptical for an hour or so. I eat about 1, 750 calories a day right now. I am leavign startvation mode. I have gained about 5 or so pounds. Can I increase calories and not weight, or is that too many calories for a teen? I am 16 5'2 1/2 and weight about 113 maybe 110... depending on the day!

If you run your sats through this chart and read off the numbers for 'very active'  you'll find that you actually need more like 2300-2700 cals a day to maintain your weight, grow/develop healthily and sustain your activities.  That's why you've been bingeing btw .... that target of 1750 cals is about 1000 short of what you really need. 

I would suggest you aim for 2000 as soon as possible and 2500-2700 pretty quickly after that.  Yes, you're going to gain a little weight.  That's what every crash-dieter discovers, unfortunately, and why it's such a stupid thing to do.    If you increase your intake quickly the gain will be short and sharp... and you'll stop gaining somewhere inside the healthy weight range. If you increase your calorie intake in little dribs and drabs you'll gain much more and over a much longer period.

Well, I burn just by being alive and active with activities about 1, 700 a day. I eat 1, 750 or so. So today, I have upped my calorie intake to 2000. I think my body would gain weight if I upped any more. The weight gain would not be quick loss, I think it would be permanent. I go to a private school and uniforms are required, I cant buy any new pants..
