Injured and forced to Pool Run - Advice??

Quote  |  Reply

Hi,

Something is wrong with my knee - ligaments, fluid, etc. So, now I am running in the pool.  I don't feel like I am getting too much a workout but I have been told that it is much more subtle and your heart will not beat as fast in the pool. Any ways where it can be more intense?  Oh, and it boring - any used H2OAudio or otter boxes?

Thanks!

I have never tried running in a pool; however, my fitness center offers this class. I asked about it for my mother who broke her kneecap in the Spring, thinking it would be good for increasing her motion, etc. etc. The lady at the fitness center told me it is really great. She said one of her friends is a regular runner, but she hurt herself and was not allowed to do any impact exercising, so she started taking the deep water jogging class. When she healed up and it came time for her to race again, the woman apparently had a better time than she ever had before.

Like I said, I still haven't tried it, but I've heard good things about it! I realize my reply is several weeks late.. but hopefully it is working well for you.
