Intense peanut butter cravings
WHY?! seriously am I lacking something?
about 3 months ago I wouldnt even look at it, I didnt even think it tasted that good. Now I get thes urges and its sssssssooooo hard to resist them. One night i just gave in and sat there with the jar and a spoon hoping I would just get sick of it if i ate too much, but nope I still get the cravings.

I freaking love peanut butter!!
I crave it all the time, like no other. The best thing I've learned is to use it as a treat. I used to eat it at every meal, because I'm a vegetarian and it's so wonderfully full of protein. Then, I realized that I was eating way too much! I find that if I have it a few times a week that I am able to control myself a lot better. You could also try Peanut Wonder, I personally haven't but I know it has a bit less calories. Hope you figure something out!

pb2...you have to try it...i've been eating it everyday with anything that tastes good with peanut butter!!!! it costs some money but its totally worth it.
I just had a binge on it probably 500 calories worth.
Oh my goodness, I love peanut butter so much. I feel your pain. That stuff is pure evil in a jar, I tell you.
if you buy the freshly ground stuff, is it any better for you? less cal?
no, i think the calories are about the same when it's fresh ground. the only way to get less cals and good peanut butter taste is something called pb2 that you have to get from a mail order. lots of people here rave about it. it has all the fat removed. so it's a powder, and you just add water.
but i thought most of the bad stuff in peanut butter came from added salt and sugars.....you can get it freshly ground, where it's just pure peanut and, I don't know, water....that must be better, if not calorie wise, than health wise, right.
is pb2 expensive??
is pb2 expensive??
i got my pb2, four regular sized pb jars for 30 dollars. that is plus shipping and handling of course.
I love peanut butter too but what helps me stop the cravings is buying an unsalted or even without sugar added - so it doesnt taste like the others. Then you measure it on a weighing scale and take it with you where you want to eat it and nibble on it slowly and immediately after you are done drink something! Anything is good but I try and have something warm like green tea or hot coffee or tea so I am sooo full after that that I keep my spoon aside...
borgesgreen- the natural stuff actually has more calories.
I LOVE peanut butter.
Im also obsessed with cottage cheese.
What I do is I mix chunky all natural peanut butter, 1 tblsp, with lowfat cottage cheese. SO good. :)

but...ignoring calories, heaven forbid, surely it's better for you? i'd rather eat 200 calories worth of nutritious nuts than 100 calories of sugar, salt and chemicals.....
You are right there, natural is way better.
Karliann, one thing I wonder is if maybe you are not taking in enough calories, protein or fat? Our body craves stuff that it really needs sometimes.
I had a friend who was training for a marathon and would wake up to discover she had eaten pb out of the jar in her sleep...sometimes its about survival.

Yeah, I have been having these too lately. I never liked peanut butter too much. I would have very rare cravings to eat it, and my boyfriend is the same way. But on Sunday we both were craving peanut butter really bad. So we ate some. And then I wanted some again on Monday, but my little sister ate all of it. I was so mad.
simply jiff is lower insalt in sugar if you can make room for the cals.
Oh I forgot, Quaker makes chocolate pb rice cakes. For 60 cals they give you the pb taste with a nice bit of chocolate!
