It seems as though the calculators on this website don't agree with my weight loss or my goals.
I started running and eating less two and a half months ago or so. My peak weight was 278 lbs. I normally wake up and run two miles hard as possible, and before I go to bed I run 5 miles. On open days sometimes I'll wake up and run five miles, and end up running five miles again before I go to bed. I only drink water and milk. I'm pretty intensive, but I eat regular meals still.
I now weigh 210.5. I will weigh around 160 or so when school starts (August 27) and I fully believe this. Sometimes in a week I can lose 8-10 pounds, depending on how hard I work.
I know slow and steady is prefered, but I'm tired of being obese and am making a drastic lifestyle change. Anyone else have a story like mine?

This puts me to shame! After Christmas, my weight had gone up to 125 (I'm 5'1"), which is barely overweight, if that. But somehow, overweight and fat are two different things. So I lost 10 pounds (the holiday 5 pounds was most likely just water) and it's still hard to keep it up.
I am wowed by your story. I always thought that people who are even slightly overweight just aren't good runners. Your story is so inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing.

marconi never let someone elses successes make you feel like yours are less. You did great and just what you wanted to accomplish. Congrats to you.
ryst if you want to do what you are doing and are willing to pay the price later for doing it your way god bless and I hope it all works just like you want. Please make sure you are not overstressing yourself with the vigorous lifeplan you are working though.

My only concern would be...can you keep it up? It's been my experience that the best way to lose weight is in a manner that you can keep up the rest of your life. If not, you might gain it back. Be careful.
well that's the thing - this regime is for intense weight loss. Maintenence will be easier I feel. I have a friend who did something similar to this, and I'm being very careful. as of today I'm 207 lbs. I've lost 71, it's really exciting.
