Interim Pastor Losing Weight for a Healthy Life
I'm currently serving as Interim Pastor of a small church in southern Iowa. My wife and I have been on sabbatical from the pastorate for the past couple of years (I served as senior pastor of a church in northern California since 1999). I work full-time at a local school district and preach on the weekends.
Since January 2009, I have lost 35 pounds and the doctor has taken me off my blood pressure medicine. I want to enjoy our granddaughter, so a healthy life style is in order.
I'm trying a new method of weight control for me: counting calories. I have been in a weight loss program with a commercial organization (I don't think I'm allowed to mention name brands here?) that assigns a point value to food and drink items. It has worked well for me, but I thought I'd try a different method of keeping track of what I'm eating.
