Because I found new surveys lacking on the boards the past few days

So what is your favorite dish in the following catergories:

Italian: Margherita Pizza

Mexican: Fajitas and chicken burritos

Chinese: beef and brocolli

Japanese: sashimi and wasabi sauce

Thai: I've actually never had thai yet

French: tomato + mozzarela salad and quiche lorraine

Indian: tandori chicken

Morrocan: never had I dont think

American: a good burger...

English: fish and chips

Greek: Kalamarakia and lamb gyros

German: pfeffer steak

Italian: hmmm...chicken cacciatore?  i made it this week, and it's so good.

Mexican: not authentic mexican, but i love enchilladas.

Chinese: ginger beef (peking) or seafood hotpot

Japanese: probably salmon nigiri

Thai: red chilli mussels with rice

French: um...maybe oysters flourentine

Indian: butter chicken.  not very original, i know, but i haven't experimented much with indian food. 

Morrocan: the only morrocan dish i can think of is a stew recipe with lamb hocks and currants, and it's not one of my favourites, so....

American: um...am i supposed to say a cheeseburger?  i dunno.  i think i'll call my favourite home-cookin' sort of thing "canadian" cuisine.

English: i do have a weakness for roast beef with yorkshire pudding and gravy.

Greek: rack of lamb with rosemary, garlic, and oregano, side of rice, greek salad (with a big slab of feta).

Canadian (aka: my backyard): tenderloin steak, grilled rare; roast potatoes with basil, oregano, and olive oil; spinach salad with mushrooms, peppers, and warmed goat cheese.

Swedish: my mom used to make the most amazing swedish meatballs.  oh - and swedish hash for breakfast.  there probably isn't really a thing called "swedish hash"; i'd be willing to bet that my family named it that because my swedish great-grandmother used to make it.

Italian: Insalata Di Mare or steamed mussell in maranara

Mexican: Guacamole and shrimp tacos, or black bean mexican bakes

Chinese: Garlic Eggplant or Spicy Szchean (sp) shrimp

Japanese: Sashimi plate and seaweed salads mmmm

Thai: Chili Prawn salad

French: Not a huge fan, probably just fondue and bagette bread

Indian: Tandorri tofu or spinach panneer

Morrocan: Baba ganush, roasted red peppers, ive also had this cinnamon raisin and curry veggie stew which was good

American:  Vegetarian Meatloaf or Tofu hot dogs on the grll

English: Fish and chips when im feeling naughty

Greek: Grilled whole dorado with olive oil and lemon or a salad w/ feta, kalamata olives and anchovies, also like grilled sardines.

Finally select a country whose cuisine you like but may not be that popular in American dining: I will go with Ethipian vegetable elecha and iab (cheese/yogurt like dip)

Italian: I love any kind of antipasti- lots of nibbly bits of cured meats and vegetables.

Mexican: Guacamole :o) and tortilla chips.

Chinese: All kinds of dim sum and dipping sauces, oh and wan ton soup.

Japanese: chilli beef ramen.

Thai: Red seafood curry.

French: Beef Bourginon.

Indian: Mixed thali- a mixture of different dishes (usually 1 chicken, 1 veg, 1 fish, 1 red meat) served with rice- greedy I know!

Morrocan: Harissa spiced lamb.

American: I don't live in the US but I did visit once and had an AMAZING lobster buffet.

English: I live in the UK and would have to say a traditional roast dinner- probably beef or ham & all the trimmings. (Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, stuffing and vegetables).

Greek: Seafood Meze! Calamari, squid salad, prawns with feta and lots of grilled vegetables.

german- Schnitzel or Bratwurst!

Italian: Carbonara (but has to be home-made with eggs full cream and good parmasan)

Mexican: Fajitas

Chinese: green beans Szechuan style

Japanese: tuna sushi

Thai: pad thai

French: boeuf bourguignon

Indian: chicken shashlik

Morrocan: marinated boned leg of lamb grilled rare

American: steak slaw and fries

English: roast beef and Yorkshire puddings with roast potatoes

Greek: moussaka

Italian: pasta or lasagna- yum

Mexican: burritos

Chinese: fried rice and egg rolls

Japanese: california roll

Thai: never had thai food

French: never had french food either

Indian: nor indian food :S

Morrocan: i think i had some type rice dish once

American: old fashion cheeseburger and fries (before I stopped eating meat)

English: whats english food?

Greek: greek salads...yum

I love my countries Bahamian cuisine- though its very fattening lol. But conch salad is the ****!! yum

Italian:Spinich Strombole

Mexican:steak burritos

Chinese:dim sum

Japanese:sweet dragon roll

Thai:tom yum soup

French:duck confeit

Indian:curry chicken

Morrocan:lamb dish, but I don't remember what it's called

American:Hamburger

English:shepards pie

Even though I'm not Korean, I love Korean food!! jap jae- it's a clear noodle dish...must have if you're ever at a Korean restaurant!

Italian: caprese salad

Mexican: tostadas

Chinese: green beans in spicy black bean sauce

Japanese: don't like Japanese food much

Thai: just about anything, um - tofu in chili sauce with basil and cashews.

French: don't eat much French food

Indian: Spinach with paneer

Morrocan: don't know, I don't think I've had specifically Moroccan food

American: corn on the cob

English: scones

Greek: spankopita

Finally select a country whose cuisine you like but may not be that popular in American dining: Ethiopian!  Yummmm!  We get a veggie combo with two kinds of lentil stew.

Chinese: Steamed Chicken or Seafood and Broccoli 

Japanese: SASHIMI & Hamachi Collars 

Thai: Garlic Roasted Squid 

French: Nicoise Salads & pretty much ANYTHING my dad makes, because my family is French. 

Indian: The Lamb Curry my dad makes 

Spanish: Grilled Octopus with Paprika 

American: Spaghetti Squash (squash is native to America) 

English: PICKLES! 

Greek: Anything with Olives, Olive Oil, Seafood & Copious amounts of veggies! 

Finally select a country whose cuisine you like but may not be that popular in American dining: Well my favorite cuisines have to be: JAPANESE, FRENCH, SPANISH & ITALIAN for sure! 

Italian:  sorry but -- tiramisu!

Mexican: chicken and cheese enchilada (I know I know!~), chips with super-fresh salsa

Chinese:  sticky rice in lotus leaf and shrimp dim sum.  (definitely NOT the fried cicada I ate in Kaifeng!)

Japanese:  I eat Japanese home-cooking style most of the week (though I eat brown rice more often than white).  No one thing is special, but it is all special together.  Kaiseki ryoori, if I have to pick something.

Thai:  Thai green curry

French:  fresh crepes with fresh fruit

Indian:  tandoori chicken (lots of flavor, but no rich sauces)

Morrocan:  couscous with pistachios, etc.

American: very hardy whole wheat bread (such as Whole Food's seeduction)

English: the idea of stopping for teatime.  Yorkshire pudding with roast beef.

Greek:  spinach and feta spanikopita

 

I would like to eat Chinese the way the Chinese eat it.  Those sauces are so light and so complex at the same time!  I also miss the taste of true Japanese food.  I lived there for a year, and never ate tastier food, and lost 15 pounds without even trying.

 

 

Italian: Neapolitan pizza with unusual toppings like squid, broccoli, and salmon

Mexican: Salsa

Chinese: So difficult...I'll have to go with tong sui or mango pudding

Japanese: SUSHI, especially with salmon or eel

Thai: Tom yam talae with coconut milk

French: Foie gras mousse or quiche

Indian: Maybe the chicken tikka masala

Morrocan: Kebobs?

American: New England Clam Chowder

English: Never tried it, and it looks disgusting...

Greek: Lamb souvlaki or spanakopita

I really love Japanese food! Chinese comes second...and Korean third! =] I definitely have Asian tastes XD

I'm going to cheat a little and put a couple for each one, because I love all these categories and can't choose! Also, everyone else's choices are making me hungry!

Here I go!

Italian: A good eggplant parmesan with some linguini and really good marinara

Mexican: Fresh salsa, black beans, burritos-especially from Chipotle!

Chinese: I know it's not authentic, but I LOVE Singapore noodles, especially made with chow fun instead of mei fun (wide instead of thin rice noodles), and steamed dumplings

Japanese: Cucumber/Avocado Roll with lots of soy sauce....boring i know

Thai: Pad See Ew

French: I remember eating alot of poulet avec frites in France, and it was darn good

Indian: Chicken Vindaloo and Naan

Morrocan: couscous

American: Southern food...fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, collard greens

English: deep fried candy bars?

Greek: Kebab, stuffed grape leaves

*My Choice- Spanish: Tortilla Espanola Sandwich on a crusty baguette, made by my amazing host mom of course...and warm!

Italian: Lobster-stuffed ravioli in white wine-fennel cream sauce, omg...

Mexican: Queso fundido de chorizo y ongos con salsa verde, tacos al pastor y una margarita en las rocas con sal :)

Chinese: Lame, I know, but orange chicken from Panda Express...

Japanese: Miso soup, edamame & a spider roll

Thai: Tom kha gai soup

French: Whole roast rosemary chicken

Indian: Chicken tikka with jasmine saffron rice & naan

Morrocan: Couscous t'faya! Had it in Morocco and it was amazing.

American: Teriyaki pineapple burger with fries & garlic aioli

English: Yorkshire pudding, which my dad makes excellently

Greek: Feta cheese & greek olive

Vietnam: Pho!  Bosnia: Cevapi!   El Salvador: Pupusas!

Too much good food in the world. I wish cooking burned more calories.

Japanese: Miso Soup

Thai: Chargrilled Octopus

French: quiche lorraine

Morrocan: Morrocan chickpeas

Morrocan: *It's Moroccan ;)  and that would be like 70% of what I eat, sooooooo I'll go with chakchouka because I could survive on it alone, if I didn't have to be the one making it.

American:  Chili Cheeseburger

English:  Shepherd's Pie

Greek:  Ick.  Not a fan... give me the real Lebanese food any day!

Cuban!  - Plantain Pie from Versailles on Calle Ocho in Miami.  The most delicious thing on earth!

 Ooh you can't tar English with this brush! A deep fried mars bar is a Scottish (rather disgusting) food.

Haha, I apologize...the only time I've had it was at what I thought was an English fish and chip shop in NYC! It was good in the worst kind of way!

Italian: Bolognese Sauce

Mexican: Burrito

Chinese: Real: Fish Ball Soup / Fast Food: Beef w/ Broccoli

Japanese: Beef Negimaki

Thai: Beef Salad

French: Tuna Nicoise (sp?)

Indian: Lamb Vindaloo

Morrocan: ???

American: Crabcakes

English: Scotch Eggs (Is this English or Scottish?  "UK" would have been a better category)

Greek: Pork Souvlaki

Chinese: my favorite food of all time, egg roll

Japanese: Dragon rolls are deliciou

Thai: tofu hemaparn

French: croissants are amazing, but you know what, I think it's just the baguette, I could eat the whole thing...with butter, brie, marmalade, or just by itself, amazing

Indian: chicken saag...yum

 

American: corn on the cob...that's pretty American, right?

English: scones with jam and clotted cream

Greek: spanakopita

 

Ethiopian food is really good--it's all served on a huge, spongy bread pancake with dollops of savory toppings--it's all really good
