Internship burn?

So this summer I have an internship at my local aquarium working with the beluga whales .  It's absolutely amazing and I love every second I get to work with those amazing animals, but it's also a very physical job.  I'm currently there 8.5 hours a day and soon we'll be going to 10.5 hour days.  I run around cleaning buckets, fish, the exhibit, lifting 50+ lb bags of chemicals, our 3 whales eat about 50 lbs of fish a day so I'm constantly lifting buckets, and I hardly ever sit down except for break and lunch.  I know there's an activities option for volunteering, but at 215 cals/hour * 8.5 or 10.5 hours?? That's A LOT that I'm supposedly burning (I'm female, 5'4 and 150 btw).  I just was wondering what your thoughts on this were b/c I don't want to overestimate what I'm burning, but I also don't want to be eating too little.  Thanks!

Jealous!  It sounds like you have an amazing summer in store.  In terms of calories, I'd probably just use the very active setting for your activity level.  It's meant for people who work in construction and other very physical jobs.  You can always keep an eye on how your body responds and tweak your calories as you go.  Enjoy!

I'm originally from Mass, and did a semester in the Willams-Mystic Maritime Studies program during college, so we'd go hang out at the aquarium sometimes (we must have had free passes, or something). I loved the belugas - watching them swim.... ah.....

 Holy shiiot! I lived  in Madison, Ct before moving to LA...............Mystic!!!! YAY Mystic!!! Grew up going there..sailing there...just loving being there! And, heck yah....the pizza restaurant REALLY is there! Very cool. Sorry, not helpful post but just had to give a shout out!
