Interview Advice Needed :)

Two weeks ago I had an interview at State Farm for an administrative assistant position. It went really well, and I have been asked back for a second interview tonight at 6. I was told that from 6-7pm I will be meeting with the other employees to see "how well we mesh", and then at 7 I will meet with the boss once more. I'm starting to stress out now, mainly because I have never been through a second interview, and have no idea what to expect. So I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with second interviews, and how were they? Was it more relaxed than the initial interview? Also does anybody have an idea of what they may cover in the peer interview part?

A "mesh" interview?  That's a new one.  I wouldn't be surprised if you went to dinner with them.  I would expect this one to be more relaxed, more of a social get together.  If you noticed how the other employees dressed, try to dress like them, maybe a bit better, not a lot.  Eat something before in case you don't get to eat, but not a lot in case you are expected to eat.

They might pose problems they have run into on the job and see how you would deal with them.  They might discuss the job so you know what you are getting into.  Be prepared for anything.

These are getting more common.  The company wants to see how you will fit in with the current employees.

In the interview afterwards be careful not to gossip about the employees.

I had to go through this at the hospital.  They wanted to make sure I'd get along with everyone considering there's a huge generation gap, and we'd be working with eachother very closely.

Don't try to be friends with everyone, just be honest.  Be pleasant and polite, but don't go out of your way to impress every single last person and be all buddy-buddy with them.

Remember THEY aren't just interviewing you . . . YOU are interviewing THEM to see if it's a place you'd still like to work!
