This is pretty simple, but it can be lots of fun. The idea is to post a general question, then someone answers it and posts another and so on. The questions can be anything from trivial to serious to obscure.

First question: The world is going to finish in 1 hour. How are you going to spend that hour?

superman.  The ability to fly anywhere at the speed of a bullet and be invincible.  Would be hard to turn the chance.

Would you ever lie to your best friend?

Depends. If I honestly believed that it would be for the best, and I wasn't doing it just for my own selfish reasons, I might. (Note: most best friends who lie are, fundamentally, doing it for their own selfish reasons. I'm talking about an extreme circumstance here, that might make me do it.)

If you could live forever, would you want to?

As long as I had a zest for life and was healthy, yes I would

If a relative or friend was out of work and you were in a position to hire them, would you even though you knew deep down they would be all wrong for the job.

I don't believe I would. There's no point in hiring someone if they aren't going to be good at/good for the job, whether you know them or not. That and I don't like working with people I'm related to or friends with.

What's the nicest thing that anyone has ever said to you?

geez, tough one.  Probably my kids saying they were glad I was a good father to them.

Definitely (albiet, would be uncomfortable).  If they were truly a friend, they would consider the effects of their actions on others before doing same.

If you have a NEW neighbor with an annoying animal (ie, outdoor cat getting in garage & spraying/damaging, dogs constantly barking, etc.), would you: 

a) gently confront the neighbor with your concerns, suggestions, requests, etc;

b) not mention it to the neighbor, but contact the homeowner's association (if you have one) and start to 'get to know' the neighbor anyway;

c) completely shut out/ostrocize the neighbor;

d) other?

amusing that you asked this, cause I had this exact thing happen...  Started out with A, ended up with D.

My kid walks to the bus stop, and the new neighbors live between us and it.  They have a very agressive dog, which would run out and snarl/bark and chase my kid.

I went to them, and informed them what was happening, and they promised to keep the animal restrained, at least when my kid was due to go past.  Figured that was good enough, and went about my business.

2 days ago, they forgot/neglected to secure the dog, and it chased down and bit my kid as he was walking home.

Where-upon they got a visit from the sherriff, and official notice that if the dog is EVER seen running free on the street again, they will take and destroy it without further notice, since it has a documented case of attacking people.

I love dogs normally, but if you have a mean one, you'd Better have it tied up, or fenced off from public areas.

Q:   If you caught a nasty cold, and then noticed at the end of the week you had it, you dropped 5 lbs (cause of lack of appetite while sick), would you try to catch another?  (known people that did this)

HELL NOoo!!! I hate having colds they drive me nuts and cause me pimples. I wouldn't even be happy about the 5 lbs...well maybe just a little :)

My 7yo son.  He is so full of love and light!  Almost always smiling and happy. No worries, responsibilities.  His biggest decision of the day is which cereal to have for breakfast.  So innocent 

 

If you had only 1 hour to spend an unlimited amount of money, what would you spend it on?

I would spend it on homeless centers, hospitals, poor, but to do it all in an hour would require me to give it to somebody I could trust.  I also would give everybody who has been nice to me, enough to make their life easier.   But that would be hard to do in an hour too.  Tough question. 


If you were told by your doctor you had only a few months to live, what would you do?          Happened to me about 4 years ago.  Turned out I survived.

If you were told by your doctor you had only a few months to live, what would you do? i would apologise for all my misgivings in life and tell my parents i loved them. i would then try and get myself into the best possible state in preparation for my death.i would contact any lost relatives, and i would ask for a few final results. i wouldn't plan my funeral i would ask my family and friends to do it for me as i trust them.i would designate wo i want all my stuff to go to, and write my will....but most of all i would relax..

 okay my question....if you had to eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

that one is easy for me.

If your son or daughter needed a transplant and the doctor said the only person in the world was your spouse who was a suitable donor, what would you do.  The doctor has said the operation would end your spouses' life and not getting the transplant would end your child's life. 

Eeeesh, I would wait for another donor and hope for miracles. Assuming it was my choice and I had other children I would not take a father away from the family. The kids would have no dad and the family would have greatly reduced or no income: house would have to be sold, I would have to go back to work or work two jobs, children would be raised by strangers, security of family is forever changed.

If it didn't cost $25,000 and guaranteed an animal of the same physical and emotional attributes of your beloved family pet, would you ever choose to clone the family pet once it passes on???

I don't think I would clone a pet even if it was free.  Probably let it rest in peace and try a different one. 

If you needed a lot of money for a life and death situation for a friend or relative, would you steal it from someplace or somebody, knowing you would be caught and sent to jail for a number of years?

yes. especially if it was my mom or sister in trouble. i luv them and would do anything for them even if i go to jail.

When did you first realize you needed to change your lifestyle food wise?

I became most interested in my health after having cancer surgery 5 years ago.  First it was to get my strength back.  Then it was to be much healthier.  I have accomplished that and much more.  Amazing what the body can do. 

If you are a smoker and somebody asks you to please put the cigarette out, would you?  If you are a non smoker would you ask that person  to put it out?

If I were smoking a cigarette and someone asked that I put it out... I wouldn't.  It also depends on where we were and the reason the non-smoker chose to stand beside me.  I don't think I should have to put it out... a)he or she can go somewhere else b)I could go somewhere else

If I was a non-smoker, I wouldn't ask that person to put their cigarette out.  First, it's none of my business what they do, if I don't like the smoke I can stand somewhere else.  If I was there first... I wouldn't like it if they lit up (that's just rude) but I would just move.

What is the food that you dispise the most.... I mean absolutly hate it SOOO much, even the thought makes you gag?  Would you eat it everyday for 1 year for a million dollars?

Very interesting question...lol...I watch the travel channel and food network a lot and one thing that I always see people eating is bugs, all sort of them!  They eat worms, crickets, grasshoppers, roaches, ants and I think it is just the most disgusting thing ever!  I dont think that there is any amount of money that would ever make me eat a bug.  I wouldnt even eat it one time, let alone every day for a year.  I guess I would rather stay in my current tax bracket rather than have to pick bug anttenas out of my teeth!  

  It seems like everyone on this site has different reasons for wanting to lose weight, some had kids, some were sick, some got divorced....what is it that finally made you decide that now was the time that you were going to diet, work out, and lose the weight for good? Any big event or just deciding you didn't like how you looked?

The tipping point for me was when I realized my clothing choices were getting smaller.  After I was sick, I had gained weight to the point I was wearing snug extra large.  Now I am down to loose large.  Almost medium.
