My intro

A little about me.  I'm 35 and have been overweight my whole life.  When I was 25 I had gastric bypass surgery.  And I lost around 270lbs.(I was over 550 at the time of the surgery).  This was about 7 years ago and I'm now 320lbs!  I have never been very good at dieting or exercise.  I lose my motivation too easily, and get bored with exercise.  I have tried to join exercise groups but all the ones I attended were filled with old women and I felt too out of place.  Also I'm usually the biggest one and can't keep up, or do, all the exercises.   I have started to walk my dog in the early morning(have to because I've had people drive by and hurl insults at me if its later in the day) to try and get some exercise in.  I want to lose about 100lbs at least in one year.  I figure that is roughly 2lbs a week.  I'm doing all this because I just had a son about 6 months ago.  I want him to be a good influence on him, I don't want him to be overweight as well.  My whole life I've had people make fun of me, and don't want him to go through that.  Also I want him to be proud of me.  I don't want him to be ashamed of his "fat dad".  My biggest fear is that if I don't get this under control I'll be one of those people you hear about that they have to get a forklift and knock out a wall to get them out of the house.  So I start a new journey, hopefully a successful one.  Wish me luck!

Hi, and welcome!

This is an awesome site, tons of friendly people and support.    I know I've seen a supprt group out there you might be interested in.  I'd popped into it a couple of times when it was still in the forums, and found it very inspiring even though I didn't have that much to lose.   They moved it into the groups, so just click on this link.  You'll have to request to join, but I'm sure they'll welcome a new member.

Good luck to you!
