Hi everyone!!

My name is Andrea, and Im 30 years old.  Believe it or not I am a Nutrition Major in my Senior year at the university of mass.  Coming back to college at this time has been quite a struggle- its a really hard major where I am constantly disappointed.

throughout my later life I have fluctuated in weight a lot!  whenever I wanted to lose weight before, I would just stop eating!!! that is not the way I want to go about it this time, seeing as how I am going to be a dietitian soon i thought I should seek some help of my own.

hmmm- what else- im getting married in June, and I want to look kick ass in my dress- but most importantly, I want to be healthy for when we decide to get pregnant!!! especially since I am learning about nutrition and pregnancy at the moment, I am learning about how important it is to be totally healthy before conception.

I hope that covers it for now!  I wish you all the best of luck-

Andrea

It's ideal but it's not essential to be 'totally healthy'.  Plenty of people have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies even with a slightly less than totally healthy lifestyle so don't worry too much about it.  And plenty of totally healthy people have difficult pregnancies and unwell babies...  works both ways.

Yes, if you're going to be a professional, it's important to follow your own recommendations on dietary matters.  Looking 'kick-ass' is one thing, but the more realistic your target weight, the less extreme the measures you'll have to take to get there.

And finally.... exercise.   You can do a lot with food but you can really change your shape (if not your weight) by doing more exercise.  Good luck

welcome!! i think it's absolutely beautiful that you're thinking of your future family and health right now!! the pregnancy forum is filled with information and people who have children and are currently pregnant so look around and good luck!!
