Introducing myself:)
I am almost 37. I want to lose 50 lbs by June, I know that is going to be very hard but that is what I want, the site says the date is too aggressive but I am going to Florida for a wedding on June 26th and I plan on being 50 lbs lighter, so, I am really using the food log on here to track and control my calorie intake, it's awesome! Makes me feel accountable when I have to keep a log. Best of luck to everyone and if you have tips to boost the weight loss in the beginning, please share! Have a great day!!!!!
I am right there with you! I also want to lose about that much in the same amount of time. I worry though at being 40 if it's going to be harder than I thought! My husband and I started the Atkins diet and I've lost almost 10 lbs so far. Some say it's not a good diet to be on, but my doc said it's ok for a couple of months. I figure once I drop more weight I'll have more energy and can focus on things like exercise. Good luck in your adventure!
Hi everyone. I'm a returning CC member - I seriously applied myself about this time last year, and dropped about 15 pounds. But I've seen 5 of those creep back up, and would really like to get back to healthy living. I'm super-short, and have always struggled with jelly-belly. AND no amount of situps make up for the sore back that results in floor exercises. I'm 39 and holding... with arthritis and aches and pains... and I'm tired of feeling OLD.
But one of my short-comings is I've found it difficult to be motivated without support from my husband who needs to lose a serious 40 pounds (and has no intention of changing his indulgent ways).
Any hints of how to motivate yourself or you and your mate would be most helpful.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
