This is my first on-line attempt at losing weight. Recently diagnosed with diabetes. Am attempting to gain information via the web. This site seems to offer some good advise.
I'm 61 years old - I am the caregiver for my husband's two aunts, ages 93 and 104. I prepare 3 meals a day for them. I am learning to eat more vegetables, less meats, include omega-3 products.
Find it difficult to exercise as one of the aunts has macular degeneration and wants company around her as it gives her a sense of security - plus she had brain surgery 4 months ago to remove a 5x7cm mass. Then she had a seizure and must take medicine 3 times a day spread evenly throughout the day - 7 am, 2 pm, 9pm. Finally had to set an alarm on my cell phone to remind me.
I have sleep apnea, narcoplexy, and restless legs syndrome, previously diagnosed with sarcoidosis. Take medicine for high cholesterol and thyroid deficiency.
Am just now rearranging my household to set up a room for eating, visiting, accessing the internet, and doing handiwork.
During the summer months, my grandson, age 11, helps me - but he loves pizza and soft tacos.
Ladies love chicken from KFC.
Any help you can give me toward reaching my goal to lose weight is appreciated.
