An Introduction... Hi, I'm new (waving)

Hello:
Just wanted to give a little introduction.  I'm new to calorie-count and since I'm going to be around for a while, I thought I would introduce myself.

The Basics:  My name is Tracy and I'm from Pennsylvania (bet you knew that by my screen name)  I am 33 y/o  happily married and I'm a 911 dispatcher.  I have a very stressful job in which I sit on my butt all day.  I'm 5'7 and my starting weight was 240#

I went online and found this website about calories and found out I wasn't eating enough... I just laughed at this idea.  I'm fat, tired and depressed and your telling me I have to eat more??  are you nuts? haha.  But I did as I was told me and started eating more calories and eating every 3 to 4 hours.  We stocked up on a lot of those 100 calorie packs of snacks and things like that.  I knew I had to limit my intake of sweets but without the will power to put the bag of cookies, down I knew it would be impossible.   Best invention so far is those 100 calorie packs.  Healthy eating, here we come.  (it wasn't too bad actually)  Next step.. exercise... ugghhh

quote from one of my favorite movies. Legally blonde      &nb sp;                 " exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy..   Happy people don't shoot their husbands"   so off to the next step

Down to the computer room I went..... Practically a whole gym right there in my basement collecting dust and being used to hang clothes on.

I started riding my bike at first 1/2 an hour every day.  when your sitting there riding, it can get awfully boring, so I started reading.   Once I started doing that my 1/2 hour was increased to an hour and its seems to go by so fast.    I ride my bike usually every other day or whenever I really feel like it but it has to be at least 3 times a week.

Its now been a month since I found this website and made the changes in my eating habits and started exercising.   I'm shocked at the difference already...   I've lost 15 pounds so far and I feel great!   Thank you to Calorie-count for offering this great website.  With your help I just know I'm going to reach my goal weight.  I'm already 15% of the way there.

Sorry my intro was long and choppy.  There was so much I wanted to express and tell but didn't want to bore the living daylights out of you...

not boring at all! we all love to hear stories like yours. it's great encouragement, and just proves that healthy eating and exercise are really the answer, not all the fads and "quick fixes" that are shouted at us all the time from magazine covers and t.v. ads.

Tracy,

Welcome to Calorie-Count.

Congratulations on your current weight loss, that's fabulous.
Hi Tracy - good job on watching the calories and the exercise.  I have learned so much here too.  I started my diet about T-giving and added the exercise a month after that.  I use a heart monitor so I know I am exercising effectively every minute and added calorie-count only a few weeks ago.  I'm doing great and am down 19 pounds and a size in my clothes...plus way more energy.  Keep it up!  It's addicting! Plus my husband is asking for his daily calorie counting too (course he's losing faster!) Congratulations! Susan
